Communications Operations Manager
We’re looking for Communications Operations Manager to join our Engagement team: the team shaping how Salmon communicates with its customers across every touchpoint — push notifications, SMS, email, and beyond. Our mission is to ensure that every message feels timely, relevant, and meaningful, supporting customers at the right moment in their journey.
The main focus for the role: сentralize ownership of notifications to streamline execution, reduce cross‑team overhead, and improve the consistency and quality of user communications.
Key responsibilities
Intake requests from product teams, clarify requirements, and run the full notification setup cycle — from task definition to launch
Manage templates in Git: create them, verify configuration correctness, validate priorities
Assign tasks to designers for email templates, write specs for analysts on SQL queries, verify copy with copywriters
Independently write basic SQL queries for simple cases
Work on notification strategies: improve existing ones, design new ones
Monitor deliverability and send-cost metrics, respond to anomalies
Provide support in the notification-support channel — consultations and incident triage
Additional: build and prioritize the backlog of improvements for notification-service and the mobile app
Requirements and expectations
Experience with messaging or notification systems (push, email, SMS), or a basic understanding of how such systems work
Git at basic level – commits, pull requests, and config reviews
Basic SQL — sufficient for writing simple queries
Ability to structure requirements and delegate tasks to design, copyrwiting and analytics teams
Attention to detail: templates, priorities, texts
Self-direction and willingness to be the single point of contact for all notification-related questions
Readiness to learn and adapt to new systems and instruments
Optional, but nice to have:
Experience with deliverability metrics (delivery rate, open rate, bounce rate)
Experience with Jira and backlog management
Advanced SQL
Experience with CDP / Marketing CRM platforms (e.g. OneSignal, Customer.io Platform: Automation, Data, Content Creation , CleverTap, Braze, RudderStack)
