QA Engineer

RemoteMiddle

$2500 - $3500

At Variant Group, we build B2C and B2B SaaS products that millions of people use every day — from résumé builders to legal document generators. We turn complex challenges into simple, accessible solutions.

We're fully remote, operating worldwide: USA, Spain, Germany, Serbia, Argentina, Thailand, etc.

pdf.net is already one of the fastest-growing products in its category, with over 500k new users every month. We’ve achieved product-market fit with major breakthroughs — and growth is just accelerating.

We’re now looking for a QA Engineer to help us ensure high product quality as pdf.net continues to scale. You’ll be responsible for hands-on testing of new features and real user flows, with opportunities to gradually grow into automation and modern QA practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Test new features on web applications before releases and experiments

  • Perform manual testing of frontend (UI/UX, logic, edge cases)

    • Backend and API understanding is a strong plus

  • Test mobile web versions (responsive layouts, mobile-specific issues)

  • Write clear, actionable bug reports and work closely with developers on fixes

  • Participate in improving QA processes and documentation

  • Gradually get involved in test automation, if interested

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in QA (software testing) with a focus on web applications

  • Good understanding of testing methodologies, client–server architecture, and HTTP/REST fundamentals

  • Hands-on experience with API testing (Postman or similar)

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote / async environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with mobile web testing

  • Basic knowledge of SQL (for data validation)

  • Experience working with Firebase (Firestore, Auth, Functions, etc)

  • Experience or interest in test automation (TypeScript + Playwright)

  • Understanding of CI/CD basics

Why This Role is Special

  • Focus on real product quality, not just checkbox testing

  • Opportunity to use AI as a helper in QA — to experiment, test ideas, and improve daily workflows

  • Freedom to explore modern tools and approaches that help improve testing efficiency and coverage

  • Real impact on a fast-growing product with 500k+ users and 50k new paying customers monthly

  • Clear growth path toward Automation QA as the product scales
