You'll design and level up pdf.net's acquisition experience

pdf.net is an online PDF editor with thousands of users. You'll shape how new users discover, land, and convert. Basically — drive growth through design. Specifically:

  • Create user interface (of course!). Design clear, intuitive, and visually appealing landing pages, onboarding, and funnel touchpoints. Craft high quality work and help establish a design culture within the company.

  • 🔍 Run qualitative and quantitative research. Run usability tests, interviews, A/B tests on copy and creative, and dig into acquisition analytics — CPA, conversion, funnel drop-offs.

  • 🦅 Holistically own the acquisition experience. Design landing pages, map flows from first touch to first purchase, shape onboarding, write the copy yourself (copywriters or Claude/GPT will help).

  • 🤝 Collaborate. Work side by side with the acquisition PM and engineers to turn hypotheses into experiments that ship fast.

You'll do that in a healthy environment

  • 🧘 Lightweight culture. No micromanagement, no crunch, love replacing meetings with Loom, organize around flat roles vs hierarchy. We value balance because when we're living well, we're working well.

  • 🔮 Data driven. We have Amplitude, A/B tests, quick interview hiring services, easy access to user support messages, and other perks.

  • 👁️ Design culture. Almost everyone here has good taste and understands design. Great ideas often come from developers or managers — and that's awesome.

  • 🌱 We love to learn and grow. We provide mentorship and will be happy if you mentor us too. We pay for courses, books, subscriptions — minimal hassle, no approvals needed (within reason, of course).

  • ⏳ Both product and process matter to everyone. We “own” our tasks, deliver them on time, warn if something is wrong, and sound the alarm if something goes wrong with product delivery.

  • 🧶 We're a team and we care about it. We visit each other in person, spend an hour or two on Fridays to gather and chat about what's new in our lives. We have a random coffee Slack bot that matches two people (opt-in) for chats.

What kind of designer we need

This is a wishlist for the perfect person who doesn't exist. If most of these sound like you and the rest strongly resonate, don't hesitate to reach out!

  • 💠 Figma pro who actually understands the tool. Components, auto-layouts, all good. Can design anything from icons to full landing pages with all states and properties.

  • 🤖 You use AI to move fast. LLMs to think, Cursor or Claude Code to prototype, Figma to polish. AI is a velocity tool, not a novelty.

  • 🦑 You're a design generalist focused on conversion. You write your own copy and know why plain English sells. You can optimize a landing page for conversion or draw an onboarding illustration if needed.

  • 🎛️ Excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills. You have sharp intuition for flows that turn first-time visitors into paying users.

  • 🖥️ You've built great SaaS products with small remote teams for 5+ years. Bonus points for experience with landing pages, onboarding, or growth-focused work.

  • 🧭 Product mindset. You sweat the details, but you also zoom out. You connect design choices to funnel metrics and business outcomes, and you know when a rough version is enough to learn from.

  • 🌀 You're obsessed with fast feedback loops. You can't rest until you see how your design performs. You regularly run A/B tests, usability tests, and sometimes your curiosity leads you down the rabbit hole of funnel analytics in massive spreadsheets.

  • 🐝 Team player. Strong verbal skills, give constructive feedback to other designers, and crave diverse feedback on your own work.

  • 🧵 You can handle end-to-end: design a landing page, plan the funnel around it, shape the onboarding, and write the copy yourself.
