Python Developer
We’re one of the world’s most popular health monitoring apps — 16 million downloads across 130 countries. At the intersection of biometrics, science, AI, and design, we help people better understand their health and well-being.
We’re looking for a strong Python engineer to take technical ownership of key system components and help reduce the load on our team lead. We need someone who can work independently, make thoughtful decisions, and drive tasks from start to finish — without needing support at every step.
What We’re Looking For
Python & Async Frameworks: You’re confident with Python (5+ years) and have solid experience with modern async frameworks like FastAPI or Litestar.
Architecture & Resilience: You know how to design systems that don’t fall apart as they scale. SOLID, DRY, OOP, and design patterns are tools you use daily — not just theoretical concepts.
Databases: You’ve worked with both PostgreSQL and NoSQL, and know how to build smart data models, not just write queries.
Infrastructure: You’re familiar with Kubernetes and DevOps principles. You don’t need to be a DevOps engineer, but understanding the infrastructure is a must.
Working with Legacy Code: You’re experienced in navigating complex legacy code, extracting modules, and improving structure — without breaking everything else.
Autonomy: You’re used to owning your work end-to-end and don’t shift responsibility to others.
AI Tools: You're open to using AI tools to boost your productivity and improve your work quality.
English: You can comfortably read documentation and write prompts in English.
What You’ll Be Working On
1.System Reliability & Stability
Keep our core services running smoothly
Set up alerts, take part in on-call rotations, and collaborate with DevOps
Optimize monitoring and reduce cloud costs through targeted improvements
2. Code Quality
Dive into messy code, improve structure, simplify logic, and clean up legacy
Support and scale the most heavily loaded areas of the system where errors are costly
3. Team Collaboration
Review code, suggest better solutions, and share your expertise
Support less experienced colleagues by helping them understand context and write reliable code
Quickly get up to speed on new features and tasks coming from other teams
The Team You’ll Join
You’ll be part of Core Backend — the team that keeps everything running and helps the rest of the company move faster. We’re not flashy, but nothing works without us.
Our mission is to speed up Time to Market, keep the architecture clean, reduce costs, and lay the foundation for scaling. Any serious backend challenge in the company usually ends up on our plate.
The team includes four backend engineers, a team lead, and two QA engineers. We have a collaborative, respectful culture where everyone’s voice is heard — and where experience is valued.
What We Offer
Flexible hours & a high-trust culture — we care about results, not clock time
Competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and stock options
50% hardware subsidy after 6 months
Access to a therapist & employee support program
Health insurance
Support for personal learning and development
Unlimited vacation policy
Culture of openness, honesty, and high standards
