Head of iOS

At Plata, we are building one of the most ambitious financial products in the world. Our mobile application is at the center of our customer experience, serving hundreds of thousands of users and growing rapidly.

We are looking for a Head of iOS who will lead the iOS direction across the company, combining technical excellence, organizational leadership, and product mindset. In this role, you will be responsible for the iOS strategy, engineering culture, technical architecture, and delivery effectiveness across multiple product teams.

You will work closely with engineering, product, design, and business leaders to ensure that our mobile platform continues to scale while maintaining exceptional user experience and engineering quality.

 

Challenges that await you

• Define and own the long-term iOS engineering strategy
• Lead and develop a team of senior engineers, tech leads
• Drive architectural decisions and ensure the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the iOS platform
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, and quality processes across teams
• Build and evolve a modern mobile technology stack and development ecosystem
• Continuously improve engineering productivity through automation, tooling, and CI/CD improvements
• Partner with product and design leaders to deliver outstanding customer experiences
• Support organizational growth through hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and succession planning
• Enable multiple product teams to move independently while maintaining platform consistency
• Balance technical investments with business priorities and delivery goals
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

What makes you a great fit

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in mobile development environments
• Strong hands-on background in iOS development and modern Apple technologies
• Experience managing senior engineers, tech leads, or engineering managers
• Deep understanding of software architecture, scalability, and maintainable mobile platforms
• Experience building or scaling engineering organizations in high-growth environments
• Strong delivery and execution mindset combined with strategic thinking
• Experience improving engineering productivity through automation and process optimization
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to influence technical and organizational decisions across multiple teams
• Comfortable operating in fast-changing environments and taking ownership end to end
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher for effective collaboration with an international team
