Full-Stack Engineer (Nest.js+React)

Our team is looking for a Senior Full-Stack (Nest.js+React) Engineer for one of our clients. 

Our client is the world’s first regulated digital asset bank, founded in Switzerland and Singapore, offering bank-grade services for digital assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and tokenized assets, including custody, trading, asset management, lending, and tokenization for institutional and private clients, bridging traditional finance with the crypto economy. They provide an integrated platform for investing in digital assets with full regulatory compliance, security, and convenience.

Tasks:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance web applications using React and Nest.js

• Design and implement responsive, user-centric frontend interfaces using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript

• Architect scalable backend systems using Nest.js, focusing on modularity, maintainability, and clean code principles (SOLID, Clean Architecture)

• Design database schemas, build and optimize REST, and/or RPC, and/or GraphQL APIs, and work with ORMs

Frontend Expertise

• Architect and manage application state effectively, choosing the right tools (e.g., Zustand, Valtio, React Query) for the task

• Optimize frontend performance using advanced React techniques (memoization, efficient hooks usage) and selecting the appropriate rendering strategy (CSR, SSR)

Backend & System Expertise

• Implement advanced Nest.js constructs: Guards, Interceptors, Pipes, Filters, Providers, and Custom Decorators

• Optimize backend performance through profiling, latency reduction, implementing caching strategies, and eliminating bottlenecks

• Work with message queues and event-driven systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, NATS) to build asynchronous workflows and support microservices architecture

• Implement robust authentication and authorization (JWT/OAuth2, RBAC), rate limiting, and API security best practices

• Integrate third-party services, handle webhooks, and build reusable middleware components

DevOps & Quality Assurance

• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker; set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment

• Write comprehensive tests across the stack: unit and integration tests for backend (Jest, Supertest) and frontend (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress for E2E)

• Debug and optimize slow-running tests and application performance issues

Process & Collaboration

• Participate in all Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to the team’s continuous improvement

• Uphold the highest code quality, engineering best practices, and compliance with standards

• Proactively propose improvements, especially in AI integrations and system architecture

AI Initiatives

• Actively participate in the company’s AI-toolset initiatives: integrating AI services, models, and approaches (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, RAG systems) into the development process

• Work on prompt optimization, product knowledge & rules, and AI agents

• Engage in self-directed learning of new AI tools and best practices to stay at the forefront of AI trends for developers

Our expectations of the ideal candidate: 

• 7+ years of professional experience in Backend or Full-Stack development (with a strong backend focus)

• Strong proficiency in Nest.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL

• In-depth knowledge of Nest.js advanced modules (Guards, Interceptors, Pipes, Custom Decorators)

• React experience is a strong plus

Development Practices & DevOps:

• Proficiency with Git (Gitflow model) and collaborative coding practices

• Understanding of application architecture principles and modular design (NX is a plus)

• Experience with other relevant technologies like Docker, CI/CD rools, and cloud platforms (AWS) is a plus

• English: Upper-Intermediate or higher
