Engineering Manager [Acquisition Unit]
We are expanding Plata’s Acquisition organization and building a new engineering unit responsible for the technology behind several customer acquisition channels. The unit brings together teams working on Marketing Campaign Automation, Bring-a-Friend (Referral Platform), and Telesales solutions that support customer growth and business expansion.
As the Engineering Manager, you will lead the Acquisition Unit — a team of approximately 30 engineers and specialists across multiple teams. Reporting directly to you will be several team leads responsible for day-to-day team execution and delivery.
This is a leadership role focused on scaling teams, driving execution, defining technical strategy, and building a strong engineering organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that the unit delivers reliable, scalable solutions while supporting the company’s growth objectives through technology, automation, and operational excellence.
We are looking for a leader with strong engineering judgment, organizational leadership skills, and experience managing multiple teams. Someone who can define direction, develop leaders, improve execution, and build an environment where teams consistently deliver results.
Challenges that await you:
Leading a unit of ~30 engineers across multiple teams through team leads
Building and scaling engineering teams, processes, and organizational structure
Defining unit strategy, priorities, and execution plans aligned with company goals
Driving delivery across Marketing Automation, Bring-a-Friend, and Telesales platforms
Improving engineering productivity, system reliability, and operational efficiency
Developing team leads and strengthening leadership capabilities across the unit
Driving architecture decisions and long-term technical direction for backend services in Golang
Establishing metrics, planning processes, and execution standards across teams
Partnering with Product, Marketing, and Operations leaders to prioritize investments and maximize business impact
What makes you a great fit:
5+ years of engineering management experience
Experience managing multiple teams and leading through managers or team leads
Strong technical background with the ability to drive architecture discussions and technical strategy
Experience building and scaling engineering organizations in high-growth environments
Proven track record of improving delivery predictability, team performance, and execution quality
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience defining strategy, setting priorities, and allocating resources across teams
4+ years of backend development experience, preferably in Golang
Ability to balance business priorities, technical investments, and organizational growth
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence decisions across the organization
Willingness to learn, adapt, and collaborate effectively
