Data Analyst (Finance)
Wallet in Telegram is a digital asset solution natively embedded into Telegram’s interface. Backed by The Open Platform, Wallet in Telegram gained 100M+ user accounts in 2024, and aims to make its solution available to all 1BN+ of Telegram’s users. Wallet in Telegram offers a dual-wallet experience with Crypto Wallet (a multi-chain wallet for trading and sending crypto to contacts) and TON Wallet (a self-custodial wallet with access to the TON ecosystem of dApps and tokens).
Financial analytics is being established as a dedicated function within the Finance team, with full ownership over financial metrics, reporting, and forecasting. While existing infrastructure (ClickHouse, dashboards, Data Engineering support) is already in place, the role requires auditing current setups, closing gaps, and building a robust financial analytics layer.
The position involves balancing strategic initiatives with ad-hoc requests, as well as ensuring data consistency across multiple sources to support accurate business decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Financial Analytics & Reporting
Design and own the company's financial metrics system — revenue, margin, cost drivers, unit economics, P&L breakdowns by product, region, and business unit
Build, maintain, and iterate on financial dashboards in Superset and Grafana
Develop and automate recurring financial reports; reduce manual work in Finance workflows
Monitor data quality and consistency across financial datasets; proactively flag anomalies
Analysis & Strategic Support
Conduct regular and ad-hoc financial analyses to support budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles
Analyze revenue trends, cost dynamics, and profitability to surface actionable insights for Finance leadership and business teams
Formulate and test financial hypotheses; participate in identifying efficiency and optimization opportunities
Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including CFO-level
Data Infrastructure & Collaboration
Work closely with Data Engineers on the design of financial data marts and data sources in ClickHouse
Contribute to dbt models where relevant; ensure financial logic is documented, versioned, and reproducible
Act as the bridge between Finance and Data - translating business logic into data requirements and vice versa
Requirements:
3+ years as a Data Analyst or Financial Analyst in a data-driven environment
Expert SQL - complex joins, window functions, aggregates, query optimization; ClickHouse experience is a strong plus
Hands-on experience with BI tools - Superset, Grafana, or equivalent (Tableau, Looker, Power BI); ability to build and own dashboards end-to-end
Deep understanding of financial metrics: P&L structure, revenue recognition, margin analysis, unit economics (CAC/LTV, payback period), ROI
Experience working with financial or operational data at scale - you know how to handle messy, high-volume datasets
Strong data visualization and communication skills - you can make a complex financial story legible to a non-analyst audience
Ability to work independently with unstructured requests: scope the problem, prioritize, deliver
Strong Plus
Python for data analysis, automation, or financial modeling (pandas, numpy)
Experience with dbt for data transformation and documentation
Background in financial modeling - scenario analysis, forecasting models, sensitivity analysis
Experience taking ownership of an analytics domain - inheriting existing work, improving it, and building systematic coverage where gaps exist
Experience working with transaction-heavy systems (fintech, crypto, payments) - understanding how money and value flows through systems is a strong advantage
Why it is a fantastic opportunity:
Our business is growing at an exponential scale.
Non-bureaucratic management that focuses on results.
Regular performance reviews to assess your progress.
Remote setup with access to our hubs in Dubai, Yerevan, London and Belgrade.
Compensation for medical expenses.
Provision of necessary equipment.
20 working days of paid vacation annually.
11 days off per year.
14 days of paid sick leave to support your health and recovery when needed.
Access to internal conferences, English courses and corporate events.
