Senior ML Engineer

RemoteSenior

We are looking for a Senior ML Engineer to build the core of our adaptive mathematics course, which adjusts to a student's knowledge in real-time. You will be writing production code, designing agentic architectures, and serving as the company’s AI mentor.

Goals:

  • Adaptive Learning: Build an AI-driven engine that personalizes the math curriculum based on real-time student performance.

  • Production Excellence: Transform ML prototypes into robust, scalable services for millions of users.

  • Smart Orchestration: Develop LLM-based agents and RAG systems that go beyond simple API calls to solve complex educational tasks.

  • Team Mentorship: Act as the AI expert—mentoring the team and fostering a high-level engineering culture.

💜 Responsibilities:

  • Agentic Architecture: Design and implement orchestration, memory, and guardrails for autonomous AI agents.

  • RAG & Knowledge Graphs: Build high-performance retrieval systems and graph-based models for error attribution and explainability.

  • Fine-tuning & Evals: Train open-source models on custom datasets and build rigorous evaluation pipelines.

  • End-to-End Delivery: Take ownership of the full lifecycle—from data preprocessing and experiments (Classic ML vs. RAG vs. Chains) to production monitoring.

  • Product Collaboration: Work with educators to translate pedagogical logic into formal rules, data, and measurable AI effects.

💜 Requirements:

  • Engineering-First Mindset: Strong production-ML background. You build stable, cost-effective services, not just research notebooks.

  • LLM Mastery: Hands-on experience with agent orchestration, tool use, and advanced RAG patterns.

  • Coding Proficiency: Advanced Python and PyTorch/TensorFlow skills with a history of writing clean, maintainable production code.

  • Practical Experience: Proven track record of launching ML products from scratch as a core team member.

  • Strong Soft Skills: Empathetic mentor capable of explaining complex AI concepts and helping colleagues solve technical bottlenecks.

  • English B2+: Comfortable discussing architecture and documentation in English.

Would be an advantage:

  • EdTech & Psychometrics: Experience with knowledge tracing (IRT/BKT/DKT), error diagnostics, and mastery models.

  • Graph Technologies: Proficiency in Knowledge Graphs, graph databases (e.g., Neo4j), and graph algorithms.

  • Model Optimization: Hands-on experience with on-device/self-hosted models and inference optimization.

🦄 What We Offer:

  • AI-Centric Impact: Join a product-led team where ML is the core priority, giving you direct influence over the architecture and roadmap.

  • Autonomy & Speed: Work with high autonomy in a flexible environment with rapid feedback loops from real-world users.

  • A chance to influence a global EdTech platform and improve the learning experience for users worldwide

  • Working alongside a strong team of open-minded and driven people

  • Competitive salary and benefits package

  • Fully remote and flexible work options

If you’re excited about shaping the future of education and meet the qualifications listed above, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now to join Algonova.
