Senior Android Engineer

Remote. Up to ±4 hours from Lithuania time zone (GMT+3). Visa sponsorship is available if you hold primary residence with work authorization.

Stack / Requirements:

5+ years in Android, Kotlin, Android SDK, MVVM/MVI, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Room, Retrofit, Dagger/Hilt, Git, Unit/UI testing. Bonus: experience with 3D rendering, OpenGL, or graphics-heavy apps.

Planner 5D is looking for a talented Android Engineer to build next-gen mobile experiences for millions of users. You'll work with AI-powered 3D design tools, optimize performance, and experiment with new features to push the limits of what's possible. You will:

1. Work on interesting and complex features, from simpler tasks like building custom views and APIs to 2D/3D graphics, VR, AI, CRDT and similar
2. Develop a modular codebase, conduct thorough code reviews, follow best practices and coding guidelines.
3. Utilize popular Android libraries and Kotlin solutions
4. Be involved in all aspects of the product development, from pixel-perfect design to analytics, payments, and user authentication
5. Write tests, refactor code, improve existing implementations, and fix bugs
6. Collaborate closely with a team of highly skilled developers, designers, and managers.

Requirements:

1. 5+ years of experience of Android development
2. Android frameworks, libraries, services, ecosystem, … (Android SDK, Dagger, Jetpack, Apache Commons, …)
3. Understanding of best practices - SOLID, STUPID, design patterns, writing tests, writing self-documenting or well documented code, etc.
4. Kotlin and Java programming languages
5. Databases (SQL, SQLite, Room)
6. Concurrent and parallel development, including Kotlin coroutines, RxJava)
7. Supporting technologies - REST, JSON, XML, HTML, Git, Protobuf)

Nice to have:

1. 2D and/or 3D graphics (Canvas, OpenGL, Vulkan, …)
2. Experience with app payments and user authentication development
3. Fluent English skills
