QA Tech Expert (Mobile)
We're a product team building a non-custodial crypto wallet (iOS/Android), a crypto card, and a growing line of investing products. We ship fast — multiple releases per week across mobile and backend — and quality is non-negotiable: our users trust us with their assets.
We're looking for a QA Tech Expert (Mobile T-shaped engineer): deep in QA, with a genuine interest in adjacent areas — mobile (React Native), AI-assisted testing tooling, and blockchain. The role balances roughly 50/50 player-coach, with a clear bias toward hands-on work. No people management, no 1:1s or performance reviews.
The team operates under the "engineer's own quality" principle. This role is not about building a separate QA department or growing a quality fortress around the team. It's about being the technical anchor for quality, working hands-on alongside engineering, and shaping how the team thinks about testing as the product scales.
Key responsibilities
Own quality hands-on: test new features yourself across mobile (iOS/Android), backend services, and back-office tools. You're not only defining strategy — you're shipping it.
Test complex crypto and fintech logic, including high-stakes flows: transactions, swaps, asset custody, KYC, and on/off-ramps.
Drive QA-developer collaboration on automated testing: write detailed test cases, review and accept the developer's implementation, and integrate the resulting test suite into your daily QA work. Quality is owned across the team, not gated by you.
Establish QA standards and metrics, including test case templates, checklists, bug-reporting standards, defect rate, escape rate, CFR/LT, and reporting that supports decision-making.
Lead production stability efforts: monitor Sentry, Firebase, Grafana; drive incident response; run post-mortems; surface root causes.
Mentor one Middle QA engineer through hands-on collaboration and shared work, not through formal reviews.
Influence product quality in conversations with the Team Lead, developers, product, and design — through technical argument and evidence, not hierarchy.
Hands-on technical skills
Excellent manual testing skills across mobile and API — this is daily work, not an occasional task.
Hands-on experience reviewing automated tests in a collaborative model: writing detailed test cases, validating that the developer's implementation actually covers the specified scenarios, and using the resulting test suite in your daily QA work.
Solid understanding of performance and load testing principles, with the ability to design load scenarios. Hands-on experience is a plus.
Experience with QA metrics and building QA reporting for stakeholders.
Required tools & technical stack
API testing & debugging: Postman, Charles (proxy/traffic inspection), Swagger.
Monitoring & observability: Sentry, Grafana, Firebase.
Mobile environments: Android Studio, TestFlight.
Test management: Qase or TestRail (or equivalent).
Data & version control: SQL, Git.
Mindset
Comfortable in a flat structure where engineers own quality. This role raises the bar with the team, not around it.
Proactive and responsible — able to influence, communicate, and argue constructively across product, engineering, and design.
Mentoring & communication
Mentoring experience: 1–2 QA engineers over 6+ months, with hands-on involvement in establishing or improving QA processes within a team.
English & Russian: Professional Fluency or higher.
Nice-to-have
React Native ecosystem: Detox, Maestro, Flipper, Reactotron, or other JS-based mobile testing frameworks.
AI-assisted testing tooling: hands-on experience integrating AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini, etc.) into the QA workflow — test generation, coverage analysis, code review.
Xcode (iOS build inspection, simulator usage, log capture).
Security testing for crypto products: key management, signing flows, sensitive operations.
Load testing tools: k6, JMeter, Locust, or similar.
KYC/AML systems experience.
QA management methodologies and metric design beyond CFR/LT/defect rate.
What we offer
Work fully remote as part of an agile, international team shaping the future of finance.
Competitive salary range determined by individual experience and contribution.
Career progression with opportunities to grow into senior technical, management, or cross‑functional roles.
Impact & ownership: Work on mission‑critical reporting where accuracy, transparency, and compliance are essential.
Collaborative culture: Join a transparent environment that values open dialogue, experimentation, and measurable impact.
