QA Automation Engineer

We're looking for a strong test automation professional, someone with deep engineering skills in building automation frameworks and infrastructure, who leverages AI tools to maximize effectiveness, speed, and coverage. Automation expertise is the foundation, and AI is the force multiplier.

About the Role
You'll own test automation across mobile, web, and API surfaces, designing frameworks, building infrastructure, and driving engineering quality at scale. You bring strong automation engineering as the core skill, and you fluently use AI-powered tools to accelerate every part of the process: framework development, test generation, data creation, failure triage, and maintenance.

Who You Are

• 5+ years in test automation, with a track record of designing and scaling automation frameworks from the ground up.

• Strong software engineer first: you write clean, maintainable, production-grade test code and treat automation as a real engineering discipline (design patterns, modularity, code review, version control).

• Deep hands-on experience building mobile, web, and API automation, not just writing scripts but architecting the systems that run them.

• You leverage AI coding assistants (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) as a core part of your daily engineering workflow to write, refactor, and review test code faster and at higher quality.

• You use LLMs strategically across the automation lifecycle: generating test scaffolding, synthesizing test data, accelerating framework boilerplate, parsing logs, and triaging failures, while applying engineering judgment to validate outputs.

• You've integrated AI into automation pipelines and tooling: flaky-test detection, root-cause analysis, intelligent test selection, or similar.

• You build tooling: custom prompts, internal utilities, reusable workflows, and developer-facing automation infrastructure.

• Proven experience automating mobile apps (iOS and Android) at scale.

• Strong proficiency with Appium, Selenium/Playwright/Cypress, and API automation tools (Postman, REST Assured).

• Strong coding skills: Python (primary), JavaScript (secondary).

• Solid understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and modern automation architecture.

Nice to Have

• Performance/load testing (JMeter, k6, Locust).

• CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test suites.

• Experience with contract testing (Pact) or observability tooling.

• Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks across mobile, web, and API, owning the engineering quality of the automation codebase itself.

• Use AI tools end-to-end to accelerate framework development, test creation, refactoring, and code review without compromising engineering standards.

• Reduce regression cycles and improve coverage through robust automation design and AI-assisted test prioritization.

• Build internal automation tooling and developer infrastructure: prompt libraries, automated triage pipelines, synthetic data generators, custom CLIs.

• Own failure analysis by combining AI-powered log parsing and root-cause suggestions with deep engineering diagnosis.

• Integrate automation deeply into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast, stable, and reliable feedback loops.

• Drive engineering best practices across the automation codebase: code reviews, design patterns, modularity, performance.

• Collect, analyze, and report automation and quality metrics, surfacing trends and bottlenecks.

• Continuously evaluate and integrate new AI tools and automation approaches that demonstrably improve effectiveness.
