BI Architect

We are looking for an experienced BI Architect who will take responsibility for creating and managing a reporting system on the Power BI platform. The primary goal is to develop and support a comprehensive BI system that will ensure effective use of data for management decision-making.

This role requires relocation to Cyprus and on-site work from our office.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a strategy for Power BI deployment within the company.

• Install, configure, and support the Power BI platform.

• Define and implement strategies for data integration, infrastructure setup, and data collection from various sources (databases, external APIs, files, etc.).

• Develop and support processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading using Power Query and Power BI Dataflows.

• Build complex data structures and semantic layers in Power BI.

• Configure gateways and web environments to ensure access to reports and dashboards.

• Ensure data security and access control to reports, including creating and maintaining data-level security for reports and workspaces.

• Administer Power BI, including managing licenses, workspace settings, and security 

• Work with business users to identify and analyze reporting requirements.

• Optimize system and report performance.

• Create and maintain documentation on the BI system architecture and processes.

• Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of Power BI and related systems.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a BI Developer.

• Proven experience as a Power BI Developer, including deploying and configuring Power BI, as well as developing and implementing data analysis and visualization solutions.

• Knowledge and experience with the internal structure of Power BI, including Power Query, Power BI Dataflows, and an understanding of data structures.

• Ability to design and develop data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, with experience integrating data from various sources.

• Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M (Power Query Formula Language) for developing complex calculations and data transformations.

• Experience in configuring and managing data security in Power BI, including data-level security for reports, workspaces, and dashboards, as well as deploying these with consideration of various security requirements.

• Knowledge of Power BI administration principles through Azure, Power BI Service or Power BI Report Server.

• Experience working with databases (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

• Experience with Elasticsearch, Opensearch, and Amplitude is a plus.
