Head of Development

📍 Location: Limassol | Office-based with flexibility

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support team leads and engineers across backend, frontend, and integrations
• Actively participate in hiring and onboarding technical talent
• Build and scale high-performance development teams with strong collaboration standards
• Identify and resolve delivery bottlenecks, technical debt, and process gaps
• Define technical goals, KPIs, and delivery milestones with the CTO
• Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering, security, and performance standards
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and PMO to ensure quality, timelines, and alignment
• Support the CTO in long-term technical strategy and architectural consistency
• Promote a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software development experience in payments or whitelabel payment platforms
• Proven experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams (SaaS/fintech)
• Strong hands-on background in Java and Oracle
• Experience managing multi-team engineering setups with diverse tech stacks
• Demonstrated strength in technical hiring, team structuring, and talent development
• Deep understanding of payment flows, transaction processing, and API integrations
• Skilled in optimizing engineering processes, pipelines, and quality practices
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
• Fluency in Russian and English (daily communication required)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AWS or large-scale infrastructure
• Knowledge of PCI DSS and payment compliance frameworks
• Interest in applying AI to software development
• Ability to promote and integrate AI tools to improve team efficiency
