We are seeking a Strategic Head of Design who will be responsible for driving the quality and effectiveness of our design solutions, significantly increasing the speed and quality of design processes, and establishing a design culture where designers act as true UX partners in product teams. This leader must delegate ownership and foster accountability for UX outcomes within the design team itself, ensuring all designers are highly skilled at arguing for and shaping strong design decisions.
This role requires an experienced leader with a deep understanding of the B2B SaaS landscape, specifically experience with Complex Products. Demonstrated expertise in navigating highly non-linear systems, B2B workflows, and platforms with intricate dependencies, multiple user roles, and complex internal/external stakeholders (common in Vertical SaaS).
Furthermore, the candidate must have a proven track record of building scalable design structures (delegating through Design Leads), and a strong focus on design execution efficiency over purely visual output.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Design Leadership
Scale and manage a team of 15+ Product and Marketing designers, focusing on building an effective hierarchy with strong Design Leads and successfully delegating ownership to them.
Establish a framework where designers are seen as critical product partners, take accountability for the quality of the user experience end-to-end.
Drive the team's growth in data-informed decision-making, systematic design, persuasive argumentation skills, and deep business context comprehension.
Set the strategic design vision, developing standards focused on high-quality UX/UI and maximum design efficiency.
Process Efficiency
Develop and optimize the end-to-end design processes (from research to prototyping) to significantly increase the speed and pace of creating, testing, and iterating design solutions.
Introduce and scale best practices and tools for Design Operations to ensure predictability and scalability across all design workflows.
Refine the design review process to focus intensely on the quality of the underlying product and UX decisions and their alignment with business objectives.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Act as the primary strategic design partner, building strong, results-oriented relationships with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Analytics leadership.
Ensure that the design strategy is fully integrated into and supported by the broader business strategy, advocating for user-centricity at the executive level.
Strategically align design resources with priorities determined in collaboration with key functional leaders to maximize business impact.
Design System
Develop and execute the strategy for the Design System as a core driver of speed and consistency across the product.
Effectively manage the collaboration processes between the Design System team, Product Designers, and Frontend/Engineering teams to ensure high adoption and maintenance.
Clearly define the role and responsibilities of the System Designer(s) to guarantee the system's robust and continuous evolution.
Product Contribution
Ensure that all design outputs are rigorously informed by data, usability testing, and user research, moving beyond subjective preferences.
Initiate market research and trend analysis aimed at increasing the competitive edge of our UX and driving innovative B2B SaaS solutions.
Brand communication
Define and evolve the visual identity and brand guidelines, ensuring all communication aligns with the company's strategic positioning and values.
Oversee the Marketing Design team, ensuring the timely delivery of high-impact creative assets that drive business objectives (e.g., lead generation, awareness).
Guarantee consistency in messaging and visual style between the product interface and all external brand communications.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
Proven Leadership Track Record (5+ years): Mandatory and demonstrated prior experience in the role of Head of Design / Design Director focused on strategic management, process efficiency, and delivering tangible product outcomes.
Complex B2B Product Expertise (5+ years): Extensive and verifiable experience in senior or leadership design roles, specifically related to designing complex B2B systems, non-linear workflows, and intricate platforms.
Critically required successful experience in building, developing, and structuring a design organization through strong Design Leads, with a clear practice of delegating ownership and authority.
Proven ability to demonstrate deep understanding and hands-on experience in significantly increasing the efficiency and velocity of design processes (Design Ops).
Experience not just using, but strategically building, managing, and evolving Design Systems as a key scaling factor, ensuring their seamless integration with Frontend development.
Demonstrated history of establishing a culture where the team forms, argues and owns the responsibility for UX solutions.
Must have experience in building and maintaining robust strategic relationships with executive leaders (VP/C-level) across Engineering, Product Management, Marketing
Strong capabilities in resource management, priority setting, and the ability to ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.
