Head of Business Development
BidMachine is looking for an entrepreneurial Head of Business Development & Product Strategy to own the commercial success and market evolution of our mediation business.
This role sits at the intersection of business development, product, and go-to-market. You'll build relationships with leading publishers and prospective mediation customers, identify market opportunities, bring competitive intelligence back into the business, and work closely with Product leadership to shape what we build next.
Success in this role isn't measured by producing strategy presentations—it's measured by winning customers, identifying opportunities before competitors, and turning market feedback into product decisions that drive revenue.
You'll work in close partnership with our Head of Business Development and the broader Supply organization to ensure our mediation business evolves as one integrated commercial offering rather than a standalone product.
This is a highly operational role for someone who enjoys being in the market, speaking with customers, validating ideas, and influencing both commercial and product decisions.
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Responsibilities:
Own BidMachine's commercial strategy for the mediation business by continuously engaging with customers, prospects, partners, and the broader market.
Build and maintain executive relationships with leading publishers and prospective mediation clients, identifying unmet needs and converting them into commercial opportunities.
Drive customer discovery by conducting senior-level meetings that uncover real business challenges and validate future product opportunities.
Own BidMachine's understanding of the competitive mediation landscape, continuously monitoring competitors' products, positioning, pricing, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies.
Translate validated customer demand and competitive intelligence into clear product priorities, partnering closely with Product leadership to influence roadmap decisions.
Act as the primary bridge between Product, Sales, and the market, ensuring every significant product investment addresses a real customer need.
Partner closely with the existing sales and account management organization to ensure mediation opportunities are fully integrated into BidMachine's overall commercial strategy.
Validate new product concepts before development by working directly with customers and assessing commercial demand and market viability.
Represent BidMachine externally at industry events, customer meetings, and partner discussions, building the company's reputation within the mediation ecosystem.
Continuously identify new commercial opportunities, partnerships, and market segments that can accelerate BidMachine's mediation business.
Requirements:
8+ years of experience in business development, commercial leadership, partnerships, or product strategy within a leading mobile mediation platform.
Deep understanding of the mobile mediation ecosystem, including publisher monetization, SDK integrations, mediation technologies, and the competitive landscape.
Strong network across the mobile mediation industry, with a proven ability to build trusted executive relationships and convert them into commercial outcomes.
Demonstrated experience influencing product direction through direct customer engagement and market validation rather than solely internal product management.
Proven ability to operate across business development, product discussions, and commercial execution with equal confidence.
Experience working closely with engineering and product teams to prioritize features based on customer demand and commercial impact.
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, validate them quickly, and drive execution.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Advanced Business English, both written and spoken.
Willingness to relocate to Barcelona.
Nice to Have:
Senior leadership experience at one of the industry's leading mediation platforms.
Experience across both mediation and adjacent supply-side products, including exchanges, SDKs, or publisher monetization platforms.
Experience launching new products or business lines within a fast-growing ad tech company.
Existing relationships with major mobile publishers and strategic ecosystem partners.
