Technical Project Manager

Clay is a global design and technology agency building world-class digital products and brands. Our clients include Slack, Google, Snapchat, Amazon, Coinbase, and many innovative startups. Our diverse team is distributed around the world, with the majority of our team based in Europe and the USA.

We’re looking for a highly motivated Technical Project Manager to join our remote team. This role is a great fit for a PM who enjoys working closely with development teams and is comfortable getting into the technical side of a project – without being a hands-on developer. We’re looking for someone who can understand technical context, ask the right questions, and help both clients and internal teams move projects forward efficiently.

You’ll be a client-facing project manager first, but your technical background or close experience working with development teams will help you independently filter information, identify what matters, ask relevant follow-up questions, and communicate technical topics clearly between clients and our developers.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Lead client communication and act as a trusted point of contact throughout the project;

• Clarify client needs, requirements, and expectations;

• Work closely with development teams to understand technical requirements, risks, and implementation approaches;

• Translate technical information between clients and internal teams;

• Proactively identify issues, dependencies, and gaps in requirements;

• Collaborate closely with PM, UI/UX, design, and development teams to keep projects moving forward.

Requirements

You are a perfect fit if you:

• Have 3-5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in a digital agency, product, or web development environment;

• Have a strong technical background or significant experience working closely with development teams, with a strong focus on website projects;

• Understand web and product development processes and can comfortably discuss technical topics with developers and clients;

• Have strong problem-solving and proactive decision-making skills, with a get-it-done mindset;

• Can provide clear guidance and accurate recommendations on project execution, planning, and scope;

• Are comfortable working with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or other common project management methodologies;

• Have excellent client communication skills and are comfortable leading client discussions, reviews, and workshops;

• Can translate complex technical information into clear, understandable communication for non-technical stakeholders;

• Are highly organized and able to coordinate multiple projects and priorities at the same time;

• Can work effectively in a remote, distributed environment with colleagues and clients across different time zones;

• Are located within a reasonable maximum 3-hour time difference from the Central European Time Zone;

• Have Russian language proficiency;

• Are fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  

You don't need to be a developer. We’re not looking for someone who wants to work hands-on with code. Instead, we’re looking for a PM who has enough technical understanding to work confidently with developers, understand their input, and represent the technical side of a project effectively when communicating with clients.
