Tech Lead (Investment & Growth)

About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to own the Investment & Growth stream, driving technical direction and delivery across multiple engineering teams. You’ll work across swaps, on-ramps, staking and yield, RWA, prediction markets, and trading venue integrations. This role combines cross-team technical leadership with hands-on engineering, with a strong focus on self-custody, third-party integrations, and reliable money-moving systems.

Responsibilities:

Delivery

• Own end-to-end delivery for all Grow sub-streams: scope, estimates, dependencies, release plan,
  launch;

• Run one plan across sub-streams competing for the same iOS, Android and backend capacity, and negotiate trade-offs;

• Manage dependencies on shared platform teams and on the Store and Spend streams;

• Report status, risk and forecast to the CTO in terms leadership can act on.

Architecture and Hands-On Work

• Own provider layer across swap, on-ramp, staking and venue integrations;

• Design transaction lifecycle handling for money-moving flows: idempotency, state machines for long-running operations, retries, partial fills, stalled transactions, reconciliation with partners;

• Capacity to write code on the integration layer and on spikes, review the risky pull requests, and
  personally debug production incidents through logs, RPC and provider APIs;

• Lead technical evaluation and onboarding of aggregators, on-ramp providers, staking providers,
  exchanges and perp venues.

Team and Process

• Lead the stream’s engineers: assignment, growth, feedback, hiring;

• Own on-call and incident response wherever user funds are in motion, with severity levels and MTTR targets;

• Grow domain depth in the team. Most engineers know mobile or backend; few know execution,
  settlement and custody.

Requirements:

• 8+ years in engineering, 3+ years leading teams of five or more shipping consumer products in
  production;

• Still technical. Writes and reviews code today, and can debug a failed transaction end to end. This is not a purely managerial role;

• Multi-chain in practice: EVM plus at least one of Solana, TON, Bitcoin/UTXO or Cosmos. Transaction lifecycle, fee and nonce management, re-orgs, token approvals, address derivation, signing constraints;

• DeFi integration: has shipped DEX aggregation and routing, staking (delegation, unbonding, reward accounting), or yield vaults. Treats slippage, MEV and quote decay as engineering problems;

• Trading-venue integration: exchange APIs in production — REST and WebSocket, rate limits, order lifecycle, deposits and withdrawals, settlement, custody boundaries. Can explain how a quote becomes a fill and what breaks in between;

• Money-movement correctness: idempotency, exactly-once semantics, reconciliation, long-running state machines, observability. Has been on call for systems where a bug costs users money;

• Mobile delivery: has shipped with iOS and Android teams — release trains, backward compatibility across app versions, feature flags, forced upgrades;

• Has owned a release calendar across parallel workstreams, not one squad’s board;

• Has run technical relationships with third-party providers, including holding them to account.

Nice to have:

• Has built systems where settlement, reconciliation and order lifecycle carried real consequences:
  brokerage, CFD, payments or PSP;

• Derivatives literacy - margin, funding rates, liquidation mechanics. Directly relevant to the Hyperliquid sub-stream;

• Prediction markets or event contracts. Directly relevant to the Polymarket sub-stream;

• Regulated delivery: MiCA and CASP, travel rule, geo-restriction design, KYC and AML flows;

• Security engineering around signing flows, key material and third-party risk.
