We're looking for a Social Media Manager who plays guitar and lives and breathes music culture to own our voice across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, and Reddit — turning Ultimate Guitar's massive, passionate community of players and fans into an even bigger, louder one.
We are actively integrating AI automation into relevant areas of the business and expect candidates with mindset focused on improving efficiency and deliver a better user experience. Regarding this role, we encourage AI-use to ideate or refine final pieces, but not generate content from scratch.
What's in it for you?
You'll be the voice of one of the world's biggest platforms for guitarists and musicians, working directly with product owners on campaigns that reach a global community of players. It's a role built for someone who wants to shape culture, not just schedule posts — with an AI-native toolkit designed to speed up the busywork so you can spend more time on strategy and creative.
Own Ultimate Guitar social strategy and execution across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook and Reddit
Create, adapt and schedule content per platform, in Ultimate Guitar brand voice
Build and maintain channel strategy per platform, in collaboration with the Ultimate Guitar Product Owner, continuing the Q3/Q4 IG + TikTok growth plan
Support GTM campaigns with Product Owner's and stakeholders, from brief to published social
Manage community engagement and moderation across Ultimate Guitar channels; escalate sensitive issues
Secure music licensing and rights clearance before publishing
Run social listening and react to trends and community sentiment in real time
Report on engagement, channel growth and campaign ROI; establish UTM tracking + keep it clean and consistent
Provide interim AU/Audio.com social coverage until the net-new SoMe Manager is hired
Use the team's AI stack (Claude, Coda, Jitter, Metricool, Later) to speed ideation, scheduling and reporting
4–5 years managing brand social across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook and Reddit
Short-form video literacy (concepting and light editing); full video production if we keep that scope
Strong copywriting and the ability to flex tone by platform and product
Community management, including moderation and de-escalation
Fluency in music, guitar and creator culture (the UG audience is players and fans, not a generic consumer)
Analytics: native platform analytics plus Metricool / Later; comfortable with UTM tracking
AI-native workflow: Claude, Coda or equivalent as a default, not an occasional tool
Awareness of music licensing and rights clearance
Fluent written and spoken English (B2+)
Nice to have:
Paid Social experience
Video production/editing experience
