Senior UI/UX Designer

EuropeRemoteOn-siteSenior

We are looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer to join the Backpack Brawl team. You will be responsible for designing screens, flows, art assets and assisting with the implementation in Unity. You will work closely with developers and game designers to iterate on, and develop new features for the game, while ensuring seamless and intuitive UX flows. You will be breaking down complex mechanics and systems into something easily digestible and fun.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Collaborate with Game Designers and Developers to bring new features into the game, identifying and solving edge cases and making sure everything is implemented to the highest quality.
  • Design and implement engaging UI screens and elements, and intuitive UX flows, ensuring alignment with the overall game design and with direct player feedback from our community.
  • Define and test hypotheses, use insights to guide your design decisions, and communicate your design decisions and rationale clearly.
  • Adapt to work in multiple games at the same time at different production stages (live, concepting, and prototyping).

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years of experience as UI/UX designer working on mobile games.
  • Ability to work autonomously, and self-manage workload and prioritization, in a fast paced iterative environment.
  • Experience contributing to or building new design systems in Figma that adapt to each project’s needs.
  • A collaborative and humble mindset — you enjoy sharing ideas, giving feedback, and learning from others.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a capability to articulate design decisions clearly to the team, and critically analyze game design proposals.
  • Accessibility and user-centric mindset.
  • Comfortable using data and conducting research to inform your decisions (such as A/B testing, interviews, and usability tests).
  • A strong eye for UI art, layout, color theory, composition, typography and ability to structure information and establish a clear visual hierarchy.
  • Proficiency with Unity, able to implement static screens and understand nested prefabs and components (scripting not required).
  • A growth mindset and a curious approach — open to think about how AI might enhance your workflow.
  • A genuine interest in games, and knowledge of mobile titles.
  • A portfolio demonstrating game-related UI/UX work, showcasing your design process and problem-solving approach.
  • Bonus: experience with UI animation, in Unity or Spine (but not required).

WHAT WE OFFER

A chance to design innovative mobile games with deep gameplay mechanics and explore ideas beyond current market trends. A meaningful role during an exciting growth phase, with the opportunity to shape both design direction and company culture. On-site work at our office in Aarhus, Denmark — or remote work aligned with CET time zones. A creative, inclusive, flat-hierarchy team culture with room to grow.
