Senior SAP BTP Developer / AI Integration Engineer (m/f/d)

The Project & Your Impact

Are you ready to shape the future of SAP landscapes at one of Germany’s leading MedTech enterprises (>€1B revenue)? We are currently building a completely new, innovative AI layer on top of our existing SAP ecosystem.

In this role, you will report directly to the Lead SAP BTP Architect and act as the technical heart of the hands-on implementation. You will translate high-level architecture into production-ready code, develop AI agents, and orchestrate APIs between SAP Core and modern AI frameworks. The team setup is currently small and agile but will grow significantly throughout the transformation—giving you real creative freedom and high visibility within the corporation.

Your Responsibilities (Hands-on & Implementation)

• Implementation: Technical execution of SAP BTP & AI solutions based on the provided architecture (Greenfield approach).

• AI Integration: Connecting and orchestrating AI Agents / LLMs with SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP (including SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad).

• API & Service Development: Building and exposing APIs, Microservices, and Events (SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry / Kyma).

• Data & Event Orchestration: Ensuring seamless, real-time data exchange between SAP Core (S/4) and external AI platforms.

• Modern Tech Stack: Working with cutting-edge SAP technologies (e.g., SAP CAP, Node.js, Python, or ABAP RESTful) and the SAP Integration Suite.

Your Profile (What You Bring)

• Experience: 5+ years in SAP development / technical architecture with a strong focus on SAP BTP and Cloud integrations.

• Builder Mindset: You are a hands-on implementer. Conceptual papers are great, but writing clean, functional code and building stable APIs is your passion.

• Tech Stack: Solid expertise in SAP BTP Services, API Management, SAP Integration Suite, and modern development stacks (CAP, Node.js, Java, or ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model).

• AI Affinity: Initial practical experience or strong technical understanding of Generative AI, SAP AI Core, Joule, or Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, orchestrating LLM calls).

• Enterprise Know-How: Experience in large, complex corporate environments (ideally Life Sciences / MedTech or Pharma) is a major plus.

• Language: Fluent/Business fluent in English (German is a strong plus, but not strictly mandatory if the tech skills are top-tier).

The Framework

• Start: ASAP (within the next 2 months).

• Duration: Long-term engagement (up to 3 years transformation program).

• Workload: 5 days/week.

• Setup: Freelance / Contract (5 days/week)

• Location: Remote (EU).

• Role: Senior Engineer / Implementer (Reporting line to the Lead BTP Architect).
