At FunCorp, we're building a music tech product for people who sing and play guitar.
The product is still in a closed experimental phase, but the idea is ambitious: let a live musician play with AI in a way that feels like rehearsing with a real band — not like playing over a static backing track.
We're looking for an Engineer who doesn't just know how to train models — but picks up a guitar to check whether it actually sounds right.
This role sits at the intersection of math, invention, audio, and live music. You'll be part of a small team where your work directly determines whether the AI band sounds like a real one.
What you'll do:
Run research based on a large volume of real guitar jam sessions
Work with existing open source models and adapt them for music tasks
Own the full cycle — from idea and research to implementation and deployment
Work on both generation and recognition of instrument performance
Test the results yourself — sit down with a guitar and listen
Build and maintain infrastructure (Docker, cloud, MLOps)
We're looking for an engineer who:
Plays guitar and loves music
Has experience in audio/speech ML — generation, recognition, audio processing
Knows how to work with open source models and adapt them for a specific task
Understands music from the inside — can hear when a model sounds right and when it doesn't
Wants to work in an AI-native company
Format: full-time, fully remote.
