We're looking for a Senior/Lead Python Engineer to join a B2B SaaS project in the insurance compliance domain. You'll work on a platform that automates the collection, OCR processing, and compliance evaluation of insurance documents for contractors. The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural ownership and close collaboration with the team and stakeholders.
Major responsibilities:
Design and maintain the overall system architecture across backend, frontend, database, and integrations
Lead the implementation of multi-tenancy, OCR/document processing and compliance evaluation components
Make technical decisions and ensure scalability, security, data integrity, and maintainability
Conduct code reviews, establish engineering standards, and mentor developers
Translate business requirements into technical solutions, tasks, and estimates
Collaborate with BA and QA on requirements, technical design, and acceptance criteria
Identify and resolve technical risks, performance issues, and architectural bottlenecks.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
5+ years of Python, React, and PostgreSQL experience
Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture, RBAC, authentication, authorization, and data isolation
Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns for scalable enterprise applications
Experience integrating OCR services or similar solutions
Hands-on experience with Docker, AWS, or GCP (EC2/Lambda/Cloud Run)
Understanding of security practices, including RBAC, data isolation, audit logging, OWASP basics, and GDPR/compliance awareness
Proactive and communicative approach, with a strong sense of ownership, confidence in client communication, and willingness to raise questions, share ideas, and provide updates when needed
English at B2 level or higher.
Nice to have:
Experience leading an engineering team
Background in insurance or compliance systems
Knowledge of LLM/AI pipelines, RAG
Experience building versioned rule engines or knowledge bases
Hands-on experience with multi-tenant PostgreSQL, including RLS, schema-per-tenant, or PgBouncer.
