We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to shape and deliver frontend experiences used by millions of musicians around the world.
Sheet Music Plus is a physical and digital sheet music store selling over 2.2 million licensed sheet music titles from Hal Leonard and partner publishers.

Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain production-quality frontend features using React and TypeScript in a SSR-capable environment
Build frontend solutions that are architecturally sound, maintainable, and aligned with platform constraints
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, and Design System teams to deliver cohesive solutions
Ensure clear separation of concerns between UI, business logic, and data handling
Proactively identify and address technical debt, discussing tradeoffs explicitly
Optimize frontend performance, including Core Web Vitals, rendering strategy (CSR/SSR), and bundle size
Participate actively in code reviews, providing and incorporating feedback in a timely and constructive manner
Follow established development, review, and release processes consistently
Required experience
5+ years of professional frontend development experience, with at least 2 years operating independently at a senior level
Deep expertise in React and TypeScript, including component architecture, state management, and performance considerations
Strong understanding of rendering strategies (CSR vs SSR) and practical experience building SSR-compatible frontend code
Proven ability to design and implement maintainable frontend architecture
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently identify root causes and resolve issues
Experience working in large, long-lived codebases with existing technical constraints
Ability to deliver work within reasonable timelines, provide accurate estimates, and adapt when scope or requirements evolve
Solid understanding of web performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, rendering, bundle size)
Proficient with browser debugging and profiling tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools)
Strong written and spoken English (B2+)
Ability to work overlapping hours with US colleagues is required (till 12 pm CDT)

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release workflows
Experience optimizing performance in high-traffic, revenue-critical environments
Music background or passion for music
