Senior Financial Data Analyst
A Senior Financial Data Analyst to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data across systems. In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of Finance and Data/IT — validating data, investigating discrepancies, supporting month-end processes, and helping automate financial data workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Data Integrity & Reconciliation: Perform regular data reconciliations between the Data Warehouse (DWH) and internal/external sources (PSPs, bank statements, ERP NetSuite).
Reporting Design: Gather business requirements from the Finance department and develop detailed technical specifications for IT teams to implement new reports and data marts.
Incident Investigation: Identify root causes of data discrepancies, localize technical failures, and assign tasks to Data Engineers to fix ETL logic.
Month-End Support: Validate data accuracy during month-end closing procedures, including the verification of Revenue Recognition.
IT Collaboration: Coordinate workflows and technical alignment with technology departments.
Audit & Regulatory Support: Prepare and extract data sets upon request from internal/external auditors and tax authorities.
Process Automation: Develop automated workflows to minimize manual reconciliations and data extractions.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Education & Experience: Degree in Information Technology, Systems Analysis, or a related technical field. Proven experience in systems analysis or Data Quality assurance.
Advanced SQL: Proficiency in writing complex queries, including advanced JOINs and window functions, with a focus on query performance optimization.
Python: Programming skills for data processing and automating routine quality checks.
Financial Literacy: Understanding of financial accounting fundamentals (P&L, Revenue Recognition principles) and ERP logic (experience with NetSuite is a plus).
Documentation: Ability to draft clear technical documentation and functional requirement specifications.
Language Skills: English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or higher, sufficient for technical correspondence and working with documentation.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.
