The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that power analytics, machine learning, and business decision-making. In this role, you will work closely with data analysts, product team and software engineers to ensure reliable, high-quality data is available across the organization.

You will play a key role in shaping our data architecture and setting engineering best practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferably)

• Hands-on experience with data warehousing technologies (Snowflake preferably) and also the experience with classic OLTP databases (Postgres)

• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Airflow, dbt/datamesh

• Understanding of semantic layers in BI applications (Looker/Holistics/Omni)

• Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization

• Experience with AWS cloud platform

• Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and software engineering best practices

• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance standards

• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes

• Architect and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming solutions

• Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and governance across all data systems

• Collaborate with data analysts, and product teams to understand data requirements

• Optimize performance and cost of data infrastructure in cloud environments

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging for data workflows

• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to data architecture decisions

   • Python coding and data manipulation

   • SQL querying and data modeling concepts

   This may include real-world scenarios rather than abstract puzzles.

4. System Design & Architecture Interview

   A deep dive into your engineering approach — exploring past projects, technical decisions, and systems thinking.

5. Culture & Collaboration Interview

   A closing conversation to ensure strong alignment with our values and ways of working.

Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Remote / Flexible (we are open to candidates being based in the UK, or in Europe (+/- 3 hours GMT))

Contract Type: Permanent employee or employer of record (depending on location)

Salary: Competitive + bonus

Experience: 3+ years commercial experience as Senior Data Engineer
