Who We Are

Welltory is a health-tech company with over 17 million users that helps people take better care of their health through data analysis. We’re consistently ranked among the top 10 health apps in the United States.

Requirements

We're looking for a QA engineer to join one of the cross-functional teams behind our health app.

What you'll definitely need:

  • Manual testing experience: mobile apps (iOS / Android) and backend solutions. Ideally 1+ year, but genuine interest and attention to detail matter more than years on paper.

  • Experience with development processes: you understand Scrum / Kanban and have a clear picture of where testing sits in a feature's lifecycle. Product development experience is a plus.

  • Systems thinking in testing: you don't just "click through buttons" — you dig into how payment flows, authorization, analytics, data sync, and client-server communication actually work.

  • Command of the QA toolkit:

    • Task management (Asana or a similar service)

    • Documentation (Confluence or a similar service)

    • Traffic analysis and network issues (Charles / Fiddler / Proxyman)

    • App logs and knowing what to look for in them

    • The basics of HTTP protocols and API requests

  • Attention to detail: you catch the corner cases others miss and write clear bug reports with reproduction steps.

  • Working in an async environment: we're a fully remote team with asynchronous communication. You're self-sufficient, not afraid to raise questions in open channels, and can explain your position in writing.

We actively use AI and automation — and we expect the same from you. Using AI and autotests in day-to-day operations is the baseline here, not an experiment. We're constantly reducing the share of manual QA work, building our own tooling, and growing our autotest coverage. We're looking for someone who approaches it the same way: spots routine that can be automated, tries new AI tools, and shares what they find with the team

What you'll be doing

  • Testing releases — from spec to production. That means: spec review, functional and non-functional checks of new features, regression, and post-release verification.

  • Maintaining and growing test cases — creating and updating cases so regression always stays current.

  • Analysis and communication — you give the final go for release, write clear updates on testing status, blockers, and platform readiness.

  • Improving tooling and automation — you don't just test, you improve how we test: automating routine, applying AI in daily work, contributing to internal tools and autotests.

  • On-call duty — regular participation in QA on-call rotation to respond to user issues and incidents.

If it feels like your experience doesn't quite check every box — apply anyway. What we care about most is your test assignment and how the interviews go.

What we offer

About the company and product:

  • A health app with 17M+ users in 130 countries and 140K+ five-star ratings in the app stores

  • We analyze users health data and give them personalized recommendations

  • We work by the Shape Up methodology with clear release cycles

  • All development (iOS, Android, Web, Backend) is in one product — the one you'll help test

How our teams are set up:

  • Development happens inside cross-functional teams — each team is self-sufficient and can take a feature through the entire cycle: from idea and shaping to testing and shipping to production.

  • On average, each team has 2 QA engineers, so you'll be working with a partner: running the release cycle together, backing each other up when needed, and sharing on-call duty.

  • Full team autonomy means your voice on quality carries real weight — QA gives the final go for release.

How we work:

  • Fully remote team — live wherever you want, with colleagues from different countries around you

  • Async communication — our main stack is Slack and Confluence, with Zoom syncs only when needed. We value the quality of written communication

  • Reasonable flexibility — company-paid day-offs, you choose your own days to recharge or relocate. No time trackers

  • Trust by default — no micromanagement. We trust you'll handle it and reach out if something's unclear

Perks and growth:

  • Hardware with a 50% subsidy after six months

  • An in-house psychologist to support the team

  • A stock options program for meaningful contributions to the company

  • Regular salary reviews based on performance review results, with room for horizontal and vertical growth

  • A chance to grow alongside the QA guild — we're actively building out processes, documentation, and training, and run lectures and workshops

Good to know:

  • We welcome initiative and the willingness to dig into new systems and technologies

  • The company is transparent: every quarter, the whole team hears about the state of the business, strategy, and metrics

  • We know that app quality directly affects product metrics and real users — this genuinely matters

How to apply

  1. Fill out the application form — takes about 15–20 minutes

  2. Share a link to your resume and tell us about your experience

  3. Next comes a test assignment (expect it to take around 2–3 hours)

  4. If we're ready to move forward — 2 interview stages: a technical interview and a final interview with the team
