QA Backend Engineer (AI Gen)

EWA Learn languages is an international company, with headquarters in Singapore. We have been developing our EdTech app (iOS&Android) since 2017, with over 70 million users registered on our platform . Our app has been translated into 40 languages.

We help people around the world learn languages effectively, easily, and in a fun way—through snippets of popular movies, TV shows, and memes.

Now we’re looking for a Middle+ Backend QA Engineer to join our AI Gen team.

What you will do:

• Conduct functional testing - primarily backend (70%+)

• Perform integration testing of AI services and their interactions with other modules

• Work with the mobile application and web platform

• Validate AI-generated outputs

• Identify, log, and track defects in Jira

• Create and maintain test documentation in Qase.io: test cases, checklists, and test plans

• Monitor metrics and logs (Grafana, Sentry)

• Actively participate in the product development lifecycle

• Collaborate closely with PM, developers, and ML engineer

What we expect from you:

• 2+ years of experience in backend testing

• Interest in the AI/ML industry and a desire to work at the intersection of backend and AI

• Strong knowledge of test design techniques

• Experience with integration testing

• Hands-on experience with REST API testing

• SQL skills (our stack: ClickHouse, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)

• Experience working with and analyzing logs

• Experience testing mobile applications

• Responsibility, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset

• Understanding or practical experience with the Shift-Left testing approach

• Good English skills (written and spoken)

Nice to have:

• Basic understanding of LLMs work (Large Language Models)

• Experience testing AI generation tools

• Experience working with AI-powered products
