QA Automation Lead

We are looking for a QA Automation Lead to define and execute a company-wide automation testing strategy for our hosting platform. The focus of this role is on building and leading the automation QA direction - designing the strategy, forming a strong team, establishing scalable processes, and ensuring high product quality across backend, frontend, and infrastructure layers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with the company’s growth and technical goals.

• Build, lead, and expand the automation QA team.

• Define priorities, processes, and success metrics for the AQA function.

• Establish and maintain the necessary testing tools, environments, and infrastructure to support automation at scale.

• Design and evolve automation frameworks for API, CLI, and SaaS products.

• Increase coverage of existing UI automated tests and ensure their integration into the overall testing framework.

• Integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline (GitLab CI, Allure).

• Apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles to testing, ensuring consistent and reproducible environments.

• Automate testing for firmware, hardware compatibility, and operating systems.

• Develop scalable frameworks for testing complex network and infrastructure configurations.

• Implement shift-left and test-first practices across engineering teams.

• Define and monitor test coverage metrics, targeting 80%+ coverage of critical paths.

• Optimize regression testing processes to reduce execution time.

Our expectations

Mandatory Experience

• 5+ years in QA automation, including 2+ years in a leadership role.

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.

• Proven expertise in API test automation (REST/GraphQL).

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLAN, BGP, OSPF) and Linux system administration.

• English: fluent in reading technical documentation and professional communication.

• Technical Skills

• Programming: Ruby/Go/Python, JavaScript/TypeScript (nice to have).

• CI/CD: GitLab CI, Jenkins; familiarity with GitHub Actions.

• Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix.

• Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, Clickhouse.

• Experience with network configuration management and testing of high-load systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience in hosting or telecom environments.

• Familiarity with DevOps principles and culture.
