Silicon Valley Girl is a podcast led by Marina Mogilko, a Silicon Valley–based creator and entrepreneur with a combined audience of over 18 million followers. Guests include Reid Hoffman, Mustafa Suleyman, Priscilla Chan, Aravind Srinivas, Amjad Masad, and Thomas Dohmke.
What this role is
You work in two directions: you bring the right guests to Silicon Valley Girl — and you make sure the right rooms know about Marina. A big part of the role is proactive access-building: figuring out who can open the right door, shaping the angle, and moving the conversation forward with persistence and good judgment. This is a relationships role. You're the person who knows which PR manager handles which exec, remembers that a guest mentioned a new project in a podcast three months ago, and sends the follow-up email on exactly the right day. You create momentum: you spot the opening, choose the right path in, and move the conversation forward with care.
What you'll own
Guest pipeline
Own outreach to priority guests end-to-end: map the best path in, find the right entry point, shape the angle, write the pitch, and follow up with the right timing
Build and maintain ongoing relationships with PR teams at the top AI labs, big tech companies, and startups on our guest list — know who handles whom, when their calendars open, when a product launch or news moment creates a window
Build access maps for priority guests: PR leads, executive assistants, founder offices, investors, conference organizers, past guests, mutual connections, agencies, and other warm routes
Track what target guests are working on: new roles, launches, conference appearances, interviews they've given recently — so every outreach feels timely, specific, and relevant
Monitor key US industry events — TED, All-In Summit, YC Demo Days, Cannes Lions — and flag when our priority guests will be there
Once a guest confirms: send the welcome presentation, add to Marina's calendar from her personal email, brief the production team, remind the guest 3-4 days before
Screen inbound pitches from PR teams — assess fit with producers, loop in the team, respond to everyone including polite declines
Marina as a guest
Pitch Marina to relevant external podcasts — target: one appearance per quarter
Manage active relationships with shows already in the pipeline, follow up on confirmed recordings, track episode releases
We have a base of agreed podcasts — your job is to keep momentum and add new ones
Marina's visibility
Regularly monitor rankings and lists of top AI/tech creators; pitch Marina as a candidate where relevant
Keep an eye on panels, media features, nominations where Marina's name should be in the conversation
Who you are
You have a hunter mindset: you know how to create a path to someone, test different routes, and keep momentum with persistence, taste, and good judgment.
You have experience in PR, talent booking, partnerships, or media relations — ideally in the tech and startup world.
You know the US tech and AI landscape well: the people, the companies, the dynamics, who's building what right now. This is a space you already follow closely.
Your written English is excellent: you can write concise, specific, human outreach emails that make it clear why this conversation matters now. Russian is a plus — the team is bilingual and works across both languages daily.
You're self-organized. You build your own systems and keep the pipeline moving with clear next steps. Things move forward because you track context, owners, follow-ups, and timing carefully.
What success looks like
Six months in: the pipeline is moving. Warm relationships have turned into confirmed dates. Marina is showing up on external podcasts and on the lists that matter in the AI/tech space. PR contacts know who we are and answer our emails. Every priority thread has a clear owner, next step, and follow-up date.
