Lead Python Developer

We are looking for a Lead Backend Developer (Python) to own the reliability and scalability of our server side — leading our full shift to microservices and proceeding to make an AI-first development workflow the team's default.

What You'll Do

• Lead the architecture and delivery of new services and major features from RFC to production — Subscription Engine, external integrations, microservice decomposition.

• Set and uphold code-quality standards through code review, and make architectural trade-offs across performance, maintainability, and delivery speed.

• Develop backend services in Python/Django — REST APIs, business logic, and integrations with payment systems, CRM (Maestra), analytics, and fiscal services.

• Optimize PostgreSQL performance (complex queries, indexing, N+1, ORM tuning) and use Docker and Redis for stable, scalable environments.

• Drive the decomposition of the monolith into microservices — service boundaries, API contracts, data-migration strategies.

• Proceed to embed AI tools into everyday development (Cursor, Claude Code, LLM assistants) and explore product-level AI features.

• Own quality and reliability — security reviews, monitoring and alerting, technical debt, fault tolerance, and scaling under load.

• Develop the team — interview and onboard engineers, run 1:1s and retrospectives, and mentor through code review and pair programming.

What We Expect

• 6+ years of commercial experience with Python/Django.

• Strong PostgreSQL: complex queries, indexing, profiling, and performance optimization.

• Experience designing REST APIs and microservice architectures.

• Docker (containerization, environment management) and Redis (caching, queues, pub/sub).

• A track record with high-load systems and sound architectural decision-making.

• Hands-on experience with code review and technical mentorship.

• English at Upper-Intermediate level or above.

Nice to have: experience in classifieds, marketplaces, or e-commerce; integration with payment and fiscal services; an AI development workflow already part of your daily routine (Cursor, Claude Code, LLM prompting); monolith-to-microservices migration; Celery, Kafka/Redpanda, Elasticsearch.
