Lead Product Manager, Compliance

RemoteLead

We are looking for a Lead Product Manager, Compliance. You will be the person who takes what compliance and legal teams know about the rules, and turns it into product. That means understanding the regulatory landscape across the markets we operate in, scoping what needs to change in the product, and driving delivery with engineering - not as a project manager, but as someone who genuinely understands both the business logic and the technical constraints behind each decision. This role sits at a real intersection: deep enough in compliance to earn trust from legal and risk teams, curious enough about business mechanics to make smart trade-offs, and technically fluent enough to have honest conversations with engineers about how things actually work under the hood.

Your Role:

  • Own compliance-related product initiatives end-to-end: from interpreting regulatory requirements to detailed specifications and delivery, ensuring clear and measurable outcomes.

  • Own the compliance product roadmap across regulatory/licensing requirements, KYC/AML and onboarding flows, and transaction monitoring.

  • Track regulatory changes across key jurisdictions and licences; assess product impact proactively, before deadlines force the agenda.

  • Translate compliance and legal requirements into well-scoped, unambiguous product specifications that engineering can build against — with particular attention to reliability, data integrity, and auditability.

  • Own KYC/AML product logic end-to-end: onboarding flows, identity verification, risk-based customer categorisation, and ongoing due diligence triggers.

  • Define and improve transaction monitoring product logic: rules, thresholds, alert flows, and how they connect to case management and reporting.

  • Analyse and validate data across systems: understand data flows, identify root causes of data issues, and work with engineering to ensure consistency and correctness across compliance-critical data.

  • Coordinate stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, Risk, Analytics, and Engineering - translate their inputs into clear requirements and drive alignment without direct authority.

  • Work hands-on with engineers to design technically sound solutions, including reading and reasoning about API contracts and their implications for product logic.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, with a substantial part spent specifically on compliance product areas: KYC/AML, transaction monitoring, regulatory implementation, or related domains in fintech or crypto.

  • Strong working knowledge of how AML, KYC, and transaction monitoring work at the product level - not just the regulation, but how it translates into actual product logic, rules, and system flows.

  • Experience navigating regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions and translating them into product requirements - comfortable with the ambiguity this involves.

  • Hands-on experience working with data and understanding data flows across systems; able to identify data issues and work with engineering on fixes.

  • Technically fluent: able to read API documentation (REST/JSON), understand API contracts, and translate them into clear product requirements; comfortable discussing architecture and implementation constraints with engineers.

  • Strong appetite for business logic - genuinely interested in how compliance requirements intersect with commercial and operational realities, not just in checking regulatory boxes.

  • Ability to work independently with full ownership and a delivery-oriented mindset; proven track record of driving complex initiatives end-to-end.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills: able to work without direct authority and drive alignment across Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Engineering.

  • Strong written communication skills in English; able to write clear, detailed product specs that leave little room for misinterpretation.

  • Experience in fintech, crypto, or payments is required; experience with regulated environments (EMI, VASP, or similar licensing) is a strong plus.

Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with SumSub or other KYC/KYB vendor systems.

  • Familiarity with compliance-related data structures: customer verification data, risk scoring, transaction monitoring records, SAR/STR reporting flows.

  • Experience working across multiple regulatory regimes simultaneously (e.g. EU/MiCA, FCA, local VASP requirements).

What We Offer:

  • Competitive market rate salary and performance-based incentives.

  • 22 days annual leave with an additional 6 company days, plus bank holidays.

  • Comprehensive health insurance plans.

  • Maternity & Paternity leave support.

  • Extensive benefits program.

  • Flexible work schedule and remote work options.

  • Modern offices and co-working spaces across 6 countries.

  • Working equipment.

  • Professional development and training opportunities.

  • Opportunity to shape the initiatives you’re working on.

  • Diverse and friendly team.

  • We are open-minded to new ideas.
