⭐ Role Overview
We're looking for a Head of Design to shape the overall quality of Lodgify's product experience and provide hands-on design leadership, craft direction, and coaching to our Product Design team. This is a hybrid role, not a purely managerial one: expect hands-on product experience, along with coaching, rituals, and team leadership.
You'll own the product experience layer, turning prioritized customer problems into simple, coherent, high-quality experiences across the full host journey, including how AI becomes a meaningful part of that experience.
You'll report to our Chief Product and Design Officer and work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Intelligence.
⭐ How will you make an impact?
Translate prioritized customer problems and business goals into clear product experience direction across Lodgify's product domains.
Personally lead or contribute to strategic, ambiguous, or high-impact product initiatives — from framing the problem, to prototyping directions, to reviewing detailed design work.
Help define how AI becomes part of Lodgify's product experience, shaping new mental models, workflows, and decision-support patterns that create real value for hosts.
Manage and mentor our Product Design team through regular 1:1s, feedback, and development conversations.
Lead and improve design critique, product reviews, and design quality rituals, establishing shared standards for what "good" looks like at Lodgify.
Provide guidance and quality direction for our Design System, ensuring it serves as a lever for coherence across product domains.
Act as a strategic design partner to Product, Engineering, and company leadership, bringing customer insight and design judgment into complex decisions.
⭐ What makes you a great fit?
Significant experience (10 years plus) designing complex B2B SaaS or workflow-heavy digital products.
Strong hands-on design capability across UX, interaction design, systems thinking, prototyping, and product strategy.
Experience operating at Principal, Staff, Lead, Group Lead, or Head of Design level.
A track record of simplifying complex workflows and making difficult product experiences easier to understand and use.
Strong product judgment and the ability to connect design decisions to customer outcomes and business impact.
Excellent communication skills — you can explain design decisions in business, customer, and product terms, and constructively challenge PMs, engineers, and leaders.
Strong coaching and mentorship instincts, even if your formal people-management experience is still growing.
Genuine curiosity about AI-native product experiences and how AI can reshape workflows and user expectations.
Comfort operating in ambiguity, with a pragmatic leadership style suited to a fast-moving scale-up.
