Head of Database Administration

Tech Stack:

• Relational Databases: MySQL, Percona XtraDB Cluster, Amazon RDS, Aurora;

• Analytics & Streaming: ClickHouse, CDC data streaming (Debezium);

• NoSQL: MongoDB;

• Infrastructure: Databases hosted in the cloud, on-premises, and in Kubernetes environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a growing DBA team (currently 5 members, with active hiring ongoing);

• Oversee performance, availability, backup, and disaster recovery for more than 100 database servers, including several high-load systems;

• Collaborate closely with development teams, solution architects, and data analysts to ensure database reliability and efficiency;

• Drive adoption of modern practices for database management, migrations, automation, and process standardization;

• Evaluate, implement, and optimize new technologies and solutions to meet evolving business needs.

  Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a Database Administration role.

• 3+ years of experience in managing teams.

• Proven experience managing large-scale, high-availability database infrastructures;

• Strong leadership and people management skills;

• Experience working across cloud, on-premises, and containerized environments (Kubernetes);

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
