Head of Creative (Brand and Design Team)

Lisbon, Portugal

AUTODOC is scaling fast, and creative vision and leadership are two of the biggest levers we have to do it well. We're hiring a Head of Creative to set the creative direction for our brand and lead the design team that brings it to life — across content, campaigns and the wider company.

In this role, you'll hold true creative ownership: translating business and brand strategy into concepts and campaigns that hold together across every market and channel, managing and developing a team of designers, and building the operating model that lets high-quality creative scale without depending on any one person.

What you'll own

Creative and design vision. Set the creative direction for AUTODOC's brand and communications, translating business and brand strategy into concepts, campaigns, and ideas that hold together across every market and channel.

The team and the craft. Directly manage and grow a team of graphic, brand, and motion designers — setting workload, running regular critique, and developing their skills. You'll be hands-on enough to give sharp, specific design feedback in tools like Figma or Adobe Creative Suite, not just at the concept level.

Quality at scale & operations. Build the design system, brand guidelines, and creative operating model — including briefing frameworks, prioritization processes, resource allocation, and review workflows — that let the team move fast and stay excellent across a high-volume, multi-market output.

Business partnership. Work directly with Promotions, CRM, Private Brand, Internal Comms, Performance Marketing, and Product to make sure creative resourcing and prioritization reflect what the business actually needs, while representing the creative point of view to senior stakeholders with real credibility.

Modern creative practice. Champion the use of AI and emerging design tools (such as Figma Make, Adobe Firefly, or similar) across the creative workflow — pushing speed and experimentation where it counts, while knowing where craft and human judgment stay non-negotiable.

Qualifications

 What you bring

• A design background: you've worked as a designer or art director earlier in your career, and can credibly review and direct design work, not only brand strategy or concepts.

• Proven people management experience: you've directly managed and developed a team of designers, with real responsibility for their output, growth, and workload — not just worked alongside one.

• A clear point of view: ability to present a creative position, defend it, and know when to adapt it based on business needs.

• Proven range across identity and brand systems, campaign concepts, performance and CRM creative, and motion design.

• Strong operational competence in structuring creative workflows, managing prioritization, and scaling high-volume output across complex organizations.

• Skilled at giving and receiving direct creative feedback, with experience managing a mix of resources — internal teams, freelancers, and external vendors — to keep output consistent and on brief.

• Working fluency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI-assisted design tools (Figma Make, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Google’s suite or similar).

• Direct experience in DE, FR, or UK markets, with the judgment to adapt campaign strategies to markets you know less well.

• Credibility with senior stakeholders, including the ability to defend creative decisions under commercial pressure.

• Professional working proficiency in English (verbal and written).

What we offer:

• Competitive salaries based on your professional experience

• Fast growing international company with stable employment

• Annual vacation of 25 working days and 1 additional day off on your birthday

• Day off on Municipality day and Carnaval

• Meal Allowance (8 euros per working day)

How to apply
Send your CV and portfolio. We're more interested in a small number of projects you can talk through in depth — the thinking, the constraints, what you'd do differently — than in volume.
