Global Commodity Buyer, Indirect Materials

Muse Group is hiring a Global Commodity Buyer to take end-to-end ownership of Indirect Materials purchasing across Hal Leonard's US and European operations. This is a newly created role in the Global Purchasing team. Indirect spend is currently bought locally at each site, and the goal is to bring it under a single owner, consolidate suppliers and put proper contracts in place.

What you'll do

Own global indirect categories: print production materials, packaging, warehouse consumables, MRO and spare parts, facility services, leases, office supplies, IT hardware and recurring services.
Map indirect spend by site, supplier and category, and build a contract and renewal register.
Consolidate volumes, run tenders and RFQs, and negotiate framework agreements.
Manage renewals and renegotiations ahead of key dates.
Build supplier partnerships with SLAs, performance reviews and risk management.
Set up guided buying (catalogues, preferred suppliers, P-card vs PO rules) in the procure-to-pay system.
Use AI-assisted approvals, spend analytics and automated alerts.
Work with budget holders, site managers and Finance; report on spend, savings and supplier performance.

What you bring

4–7+ years in purchasing with hands-on indirect procurement, ideally in manufacturing, printing, distribution or logistics across several countries.
Proven supplier consolidation and documented savings, including tenders.
Contract management experience: framework agreements, SLAs, leases, service contracts.
Spend analysis and P2P setup experience.
Strong comfort with AI and automation, stakeholder skills, data discipline and an ownership mindset.
Fluent English.

Nice to have

Paper or print buying experience; Coupa (or similar) and NetSuite; ERP migration experience.
Degree in Business or Supply Chain; NEVI, CIPS or equivalent.
Dutch or other European languages.
