AIUTA is looking for a freelance photographer to produce standardized flat-lay product images for AI-powered image generation workflows. This is a project-based opportunity that may be especially suitable for an early-career photographer, recent photography graduate, or someone looking to build hands-on e-commerce photography experience.
The objective of this work is accurate, standardized product documentation rather than editorial or creative photography. Every image should clearly and faithfully capture a garment’s construction, fit, shape, color, materials, branding, and key design details.
Projects will be assigned based on client demand, so the volume and frequency of work may vary. For active projects, the expected production pace may be approximately 50–75 SKUs per working day.
Photograph each SKU per the required capture method(s), inputs include:
Flat Lay — front, back, plus detail image(s)
Mannequin — front, back, side, plus detail image(s)
On Figure — front, back, side, plus detail image(s)
Capture supporting detail images documenting characteristics key to the design and construction
Represent products faithfully including color, proportions, materials, branding, and construction
Prepare every garment by steaming or pressing it so it is presentation-ready before shooting.
Style products naturally and symmetrically, avoiding unnecessary folds, wrinkles, distortion, or obstruction, and ensure the entire product and its silhouette are clearly visible in every primary reference image.
Organize and name delivered files by SKU / product ID following an agreed naming convention with zero risk of images from different products being mixed together.
Deliver and organize high-resolution image files in the format agreed with AIUTA.
Accommodate re-shoot requests promptly when required images are missing, a garment is incorrectly labelled, preparation is inadequate, or images don’t accurately document the product.
Receive and securely store products shipped by the client and follow the agreed process for their return or onward shipment.
Basic photography skills and confidence using your own camera equipment.
Ability to work at high volume and on tight, recurring turnaround cycles.
A professional studio setup (owned or accessible) capable of consistent, repeatable lighting across flat lay, mannequin, and on-figure/model photography.
A documentation-first mindset: strong attention to detail and a preference for accuracy over creative interpretation.
Established file management practices, and comfort working within a defined SKU-based naming convention.
A reliable internal QC process to catch errors before delivery.
Capacity to scale output to meet AIUTA’s production volume with a predictable, dependable turnaround time.
Please submit a proposal that includes:
A short introduction and your current location.
A portfolio or examples of your photography work. Product or fashion photography examples are helpful but not required.
A brief description of the camera, lighting equipment, and shooting space available to you.
Your general availability for project-based assignments.
