Engraving Specialist Engineer

We're looking for a Engraving specialist to help shape the future of our notation engine, ensuring world-class engraving quality across the product. This role suits someone with deep knowledge of professional music engraving standards and experience working in software development.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed quality checks on all engraving-related PRs.
Support the MuseScore Studio QA team through routine smoke testing on Mac, Windows and Linux, to uphold high-quality engraving and notation behaviour.
Collaborate with other internal teams to gather requirements and prepare specifications and design briefs for upcoming engraving-related features.
Provide expert guidance on engraving appearance and notation conventions – especially for contemporary classical music – and recommend new features and improvements.
Write engraving-specific release notes and user documentation for each release.
Required Experience:
Expertise in music notation and professional engraving and publishing standards across a wide range of musical styles.
A minimum tertiary qualification in music.
Development experience is highly preferred.
English: Fluent.
