Hi! We're Mercuryo, and we’re on a mission to redefine finance by blending the best of traditional banking with the power of decentralized finance (DeFi). We believe everyone deserves seamless access to Web3 and traditional financial services, so we're building the platform that makes it real: one that simplifies crypto and integrates it into the broader financial ecosystem.
We're looking for an experienced Data Analyst to own the data behind our payments business, from the first log of a new product to the final dashboard. You'll work with Operations, Finance, Partnerships, and Data Engineering to turn business questions into reliable datasets, and to build our transaction cost model covering acquirer, scheme, FX, KYC, fraud, chargeback, blockchain, and custody costs. You'll also run and automate monthly reconciliations against partner invoices, tracing every discrepancy to its root cause. This is a hands-on role that needs deep SQL and dbt skills, a solid grasp of card payment economics, and a reconciliation mindset.
Your Role:
Model new products from day one. Support our launches by working with engineers and product managers so the right data is logged, define how revenue and cost are recognised, and ship the marts and dashboards.
Partner with stakeholders. Work with Operations (profitability, payment providers, pricing, liquidity), Finance and Partnerships. Turn their questions into reliable datasets and Metabase or Tableau dashboards.
Build data-quality checks and alerts. Use dbt tests and Airflow checks that post to Slack and Jira. Cover gaps between internal systems, the blockchain, custody and exchanges. Tune these alerts so they stay useful rather than noisy.
Own the transaction cost model. Build and maintain dbt models that attach the following to each transaction:
acquirer fees, interchange and scheme fees, and FX costs;
KYC, transaction-monitoring and fraud-screening costs;
chargeback costs, and blockchain and custody fees.
Run and automate reconciliations. Match partner invoices and settlement reports against internal data every month. Find the root cause of each discrepancy, quantify it and help the business recover it. Then turn manual checks into automated ones.
Keep payments data complete as the stack changes. When new acquirers, payment methods or products go live:
define the fee and cost logic they need;
specify the mapping that Data Engineering implements;
validate the result before it reaches reporting.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years in data analytics or analytics engineering, preferably in payments, fintech, e-money or crypto.
Expert SQL on large transactional datasets: window functions, deduplication, incremental logic, performance tuning. You can read and safely refactor someone else's 1,000-line model.
Hands-on experience with dbt (or similar) and a git-based workflow (PRs, code review). Familiarity with Airflow.
A solid grasp of card payment economics: acquiring, interchange and scheme fees (IC++), settlement, chargebacks, 3DS and declines. Familiarity with alternative payment methods.
A reconciliation mindset. You have matched settlement or invoice files against internal ledgers and can explain the difference down to the cent.
Hands-on experience with python.
BI tools: Metabase, Tableau or similar.
Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders.
Professional English, written and spoken.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of crypto infrastructure: on-chain transactions, custody platforms (e.g. Fireblocks), exchange APIs, network fees.
Experience with KYC/AML and fraud-prevention vendors and their pricing models.
ClickHouse, StarRocks or another MPP database.
Experience building P&L or unit-economics models with Finance.
What We Offer:
Competitive market rate salary and performance-based incentives.
22 days annual leave with an additional 6 company days, plus bank holidays.
Comprehensive health insurance plans.
Maternity & Paternity leave support.
Extensive benefits program.
Flexible work schedule and remote work options.
Modern offices and co-working spaces across 6 countries.
Working equipment.
Professional development and training opportunities.
Opportunity to shape the initiatives you’re working on.
Diverse and friendly team.
We are open-minded to new ideas.
