Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Nicosia, Cyprus (office-based, full-time) Start date: ASAP

On behalf of our client — a boutique IT consulting company specialising in Network Infrastructure, Security, Information Governance and Business Continuity — we are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to join their team in Nicosia.

Their portfolio spans Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Security-as-a-Service, on-premise infrastructure, and integrated communications solutions, built on strategic partnerships with vendors including HPE, Microsoft, Sophos, Veeam, and 3CX.

About the role You will take ownership of the design, implementation, and hardening of network and security infrastructure for the company's clients — working hands-on with next-generation firewalls, VPN and network security technologies, and a broad range of network protection concepts to help clients build resilient, well-protected IT environments.

This is a great opportunity for a networking-minded security professional who wants to work across the full stack of enterprise network security — from switching and routing fundamentals to advanced threat prevention and cloud edge security.

What we're looking for

• 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role

• Solid, hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls and network security policy management

• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including OSI and TCP/IP models

• Practical experience with core network protocols and services (NAT/PAT, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/SFTP, SMTP, SNMP, NTP, ICMP, ARP)

• Experience with VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP, port security, and static/dynamic routing protocols

• Experience deploying and supporting VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL/TLS VPN)

• Understanding of TLS/SSL encryption, certificate management, and TLS inspection

• Familiarity with web and email filtering solutions

• Experience with IPS/IDS technologies

• Knowledge of NAC and port-based access control

• Understanding of DDoS protection and rate limiting techniques

• Familiarity with cloud edge security concepts (WAF, CASB, SASE/SSE, DLP)

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently

• English — Intermediate+ (spoken and written)
