About the role
We’re looking for multiple experienced CCaaS integrations engineers to own and manage our contact center application’s deep integration with Twilio and other CCaaS providers (including Telnyx and Commio). Our sophisticated telephony stack processes millions of calls and messages every month, and you’ll be developing inbound and outbound calling, call queues and distribution logic, SMS/MMS messaging workflows, task routing, IVRs, and intelligent voice assistants. As part of the core telephony team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a leading Twilio ISV and help shape the future of cloud calling and texting.
For this position, you must have direct experience building a calling and messaging stack on top of Twilio or similar CPaaS vendors, have created task-based routing schemes, designed multi-layer IVRs, managed call queueing and distribution, and delivered production-grade SMS/MMS features. You’ll be working hand-in-hand with our top-tier engineers who have years of deep experience on Twilio.

Responsibilities

As an Aloware software engineer, you’d be working under the leadership of our CTO/co-founder and contributing to our code base within your designated product pod. Your path to promotion goes thru your work on exciting new scaling problems, delivering net new functionality, and becoming a team lead.
Coding and Development:
Develop and deliver complete user stories or bug fixes, as outlined by PMs/Product Owners.
Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code tailored to each user story.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct comprehensive unit testing to ensure code quality.
Ensure each piece of code is thoroughly tested to maintain high standards.
Peer Interaction and Code Review:
Actively participate in peer code reviews to enhance code quality and learning.
Provide support and assistance to other team members, especially in areas of expertise.
Help others with questions, issues, and challenges, promoting a team-oriented environment.
Documentation:
Write and maintain technical documentation, highlighting its importance.
Inform about new or updated dependencies, create deployment manuals, and produce instructional videos for new tasks.

Requirements
5+ years of engineering experience with PHP/Laravel, Vue.js, MySQL, and AWS (Node.js/Python a plus).
2+ years integrating CPaaS and telephony platforms, especially Twilio, with experience in SIP/VoIP, call routing, IVRs, SMS/MMS, and high-volume messaging or calling workflows.
Strong experience building and securing API layers (authentication, logging, rate limiting, webhook handling, and payload transformation).
Solid front-end skills in Vue.js or React; all engineers contribute to UI features.
Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB) and analytics or reporting workflows.
As part of this position, you are an engineer on-call on a rotational basis every two weeks following deployments. While emergencies don’t happen often, we do require an engineer on-call to maintain our quality of service.
