Android Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Android Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, Kotlin, and JavaScript, with a deep understanding of Android development and best practices. As a Senior Android Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform (develop and maintain high-quality Android applications using Java and Kotlin; collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features; and, work with outside data sources and APIs)

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications (conduct code reviews and ensure the quality of the code; identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs; and maintain code quality, organization, and automation)

• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies (continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency; and stay updated with new mobile technology trends, applications, and protocols)

• Collaborate with team members (work closely with the design team to create a seamless user experience; assist in project planning, sprint planning, and time estimation; and mentor junior developers and share knowledge with the team)

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• 5-7 years of proven experience in Android development.

• Extensive experience with Java and Kotlin.

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and familiarity with front-end frameworks.

• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.

• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.

• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

• Experience with Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.

• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.

• Experience with unit testing, test automation, and test-driven development.

• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
