Analytics Engineer

Prequel’s Performance Marketing team builds analytics and data infrastructure for user acquisition, covering the entire pipeline from ingesting raw data from advertising platforms to data marts, dashboards, and optimization tools that support daily traffic acquisition decisions.

We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer to take ownership of this core data layer: data pipelines, dbt models, source integrations, and their reliability and timeliness, while continuously improving and developing the infrastructure.

This role is for someone who cares about data being accurate and available on time, and who knows how to build infrastructure that runs reliably without manual intervention.
 

Responsibilities

• Own and develop our dbt models and data marts in ClickHouse, including architecture, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
• Own data pipelines end-to-end: from working with stakeholders and defining requirements, through design and implementation, to reliable day-to-day operation with alerting, automated retries, and proper failure handling. Take responsibility for the outcome as a whole, rather than just one stage of the process.
• Build and maintain integrations with marketing APIs such as Meta and AppsFlyer, ensuring resilience to rate limits, schema changes, and provider-side deprecations.
• Propose and advocate for new solutions across data architecture, automation, and opportunities to eliminate manual work.
• Design and launch lightweight internal services and tools that automate routine workflows for the marketing team.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of AI tools for user acquisition, including creative evaluation, recommendation systems, and analytics assistants.
• Improve the reliability and observability of our data infrastructure.
   

Requirements

• Strong production experience with dbt. This is one of the key requirements for the role.
• Strong SQL skills, including window functions, complex transformations, and query optimization. Experience with ClickHouse is a significant plus.
• Solid Python skills for data engineering tasks, including building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, API integrations, and automated data workflows.
• Experience with Airflow, Git, and code review, along with an understanding of CI/CD, testing, and documentation practices for analytics code.
• Ability to own a data pipeline throughout its full lifecycle, from design and development to monitoring, alerting, failure handling, and reliable daily operation.
• Engineering maturity and independence: the ability to gather requirements from stakeholders, make technical decisions, and turn one-off requests into reliable, scalable solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience in performance marketing and an understanding of key metrics such as CAC, LTV, ROAS, and attribution.
• Understanding of how advertising APIs such as Meta and TikTok work.
