About the Role

We are looking for a versatile QA Engineer to join DevOps team — someone with a strong classical background in manual and automated testing, but who has been operating under an AI-First approach for the last 1–2 years, using AI as their primary day-to-day tool.

This is not a pure Manual QA or pure Automation QA role. The specialist should be ready to independently cover the full testing cycle: from requirements analysis and manual validation of new functionality to writing, running, and maintaining automated tests.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, user scenarios, and technical documentation.

• Conduct functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and smoke testing.

• Test web applications, APIs, integrations, and internal technical tools.

• Develop and maintain automated tests using Playwright and/or Selenium.

• Create test cases, checklists, test data, and defect reports.

• Analyze logs, CI/CD errors, and automated test run results.

• Integrate automated tests into build and delivery pipelines.

• Determine which checks should be automated and which are better performed manually.

• Use AI tools across all stages of the QA process, including:

  • requirements analysis and identification of missing scenarios;

  • test case generation and updates;

  • creation and refactoring of automated tests;

  • test data generation;

  • log analysis, failure analysis, and flaky test investigation;

  • defect localization;

  • bug report and test documentation preparation;

  • test coverage assessment.

• Review and validate AI-generated results — never relying on them blindly.

Mandatory Requirements

• English proficiency: B2 or higher — you will be working in an international team.

• Strong commercial experience in manual testing.

• Solid understanding of QA processes, test design techniques, and the defect lifecycle.

• Hands-on experience with test automation using Selenium and Playwright.

• A solid foundation in automation acquired before the widespread adoption of AI coding tools — the candidate must understand test architecture, locators, waits, test isolation, test data management, and the root causes of test flakiness.

• Experience independently developing and maintaining automated tests — not just running existing test suites.

• Active and systematic use of AI in commercial projects over the past 1–2 years.

• Ability to explain, with concrete examples, how AI has helped you:

  • accelerate test creation;

  • improve test coverage;

  • find a defect;

  • analyze a failure;

  • reduce manual effort;

  • improve overall QA process quality.

• Experience testing REST APIs.

• Understanding of Git and basic CI/CD processes.

• Ability to work on both manual and automation tasks depending on project priorities.

• Available for full-time engagement.

• Self-sufficient, responsible, and pragmatic — knows how to investigate a problem to sufficient depth without over-engineering or over-analyzing.

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with incomplete requirements and deliver working results quickly.

Nice to Have

• Experience with DevOps, cloud, or infrastructure projects.

• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud platforms.

• Experience testing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, infrastructure dashboards, and internal developer tools.

• Experience with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and API automation tools.

• Experience with performance or security testing.

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#.

• Experience building a QA process or automation framework from scratch.

• Experience using AI agents, IDE assistants, and LLM APIs to automate QA tasks.
