Senior QA Engineer (Backend)

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer that would design the testing strategy, perform hands-on backend testing, and build the automation and monitoring needed to launch a reliable product quickly. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement automated test suites: unit, integration, API, and end-to-end, covering backend

• Define and maintain QA processes and standards, introducing best practices for test planning, execution, and reporting

• Manual testing of backend services in a microservice architecture

• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to ensure testability and early detection of issues

• Drive continuous improvement of release quality, deployment pipelines, and overall developer productivity

• Investigate and troubleshoot production issues, contributing to root-cause analysis and long-term fixes

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of professional QA experience, including hands-on experience testing mobile applications and backend systems

• Experience testing backend services and APIs in a microservices environment

• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (we use the following; experience with similar tools is also valuable):

  • Backend automation: Go 

  • Frontend/test automation: TypeScript + Playwright 

  • Mobile automation frameworks: XCUITest, Kaspresso

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms 

• Familiarity with test reporting and observability tools such as Allure or equivalent

• Solid understanding of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic) and setting up alerts/dashboards

• Strong communication skills in English
