Senior GameDev Engineer (C++)
Plummy Games is a mobile game development company with a released, fast-growing project, Star Merge. We are a remote-first company, and we operate in alignment with the Moldova time zone (GMT+2) to support smooth teamwork and real-time collaboration.
Currently, we’re looking for a Senior GameDev Engineer who enjoys tackling complex challenges in mobile games. You’ll work on a live mobile title using C++, moving across gameplay features, technical systems, performance improvements, and SDK integrations to deliver features that players actually feel.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain gameplay features and technical systems in C++ and our existing tech stack.
Work on mobile game performance and stability (ANRs, crashes, memory usage, build size).
Integrate and maintain third-party SDKs (ads, analytics, crash reporting, observability, customer support).
Debug and fix complex production issues, including hard-to-reproduce bugs.
Collaborate with game designers, analysts, QA, and other developers to deliver features from idea to release.
Contribute to improving our architecture, code quality, and tooling.
Take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion, including testing and release support.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a C++ developer in mobile games or interactive apps (Android/iOS).
Experience with game engines (in-house/custom or popular engines such as Unity, Godot, Cocos2dx, Unreal Engine, etc.).
Ability to debug difficult issues (crashes, memory leaks, performance problems).
Experience integrating SDKs (ad monetization, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, etc.).
Strong problem-solving skills and a finisher mindset, with attention to detail and a focus on stability and performance in production.
Comfortable working remotely and autonomously, coordinating with a distributed team.
Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).
Nice-to-have
Experience with liveops / frequently updated mobile games.
Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., crash logging, performance monitoring).
Experience with data-driven features working with analytics.
Interest in architecture and code quality (modularization, refactoring, technical debt management).
What kind of person will fit:
You are detail-oriented and care about stability and performance in production.
You are a team player: you listen, give and receive feedback, and help others succeed.
You own problems instead of waiting for someone else to fix them.
You stay calm and systematic when things go wrong (production bugs, tight deadlines).
You’re curious and proactive about learning our stack, tools, and processes.
We offer:
Remote-first approach with various collaboration models.
Smooth onboarding experience, with full support from our team to help you feel confident from accepting the offer.
Work alongside experienced, like-minded professionals with an opportunity for fast professional growth.
Competitive salaries, reviewed on a timely basis, or personal achievements and involvement in the project.
A standard 5-day workweek, synced with the GMT+2 time zone.
20 business days of paid vacation, with the option to take single days off from this amount.
Public holidays based on your country of residence.
5 sick days per year for health-related needs - no doctor’s note required.
📍Moldova-based? You’ll work from our office and will be covered with full IT Park social benefits.
📍Estonia-based? You’ll get a full employment contract under Estonian law.
