As our Principal Designer, Ecosystem & Innovation, you'll work hand in hand with the Head of Product Design to define what's next for Manychat's product experience, design architecture, AI-native interaction patterns, and the broader ecosystem. It's a highly senior IC role at the heart of our most ambitious design work, where you'll shape direction alongside leadership without ever losing touch with the craft.

You're equally at home writing a design spec, prototyping in code, presenting a platform vision to leadership, and debating token naming conventions with an engineer. You think like a design leader, build like a design engineer, and see the world like an experienced architect.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 🚀

Shape the Future of the Manychat Experience

• Define and drive a bold, cohesive experience vision across the Manychat ecosystem — spanning product surfaces, AI-powered workflows, and creator-facing touchpoints.

• Lead strategic, zero-to-one design explorations for forward-thinking initiatives — the kind of work that influences the company's next chapter.

• Identify white spaces in the creator economy and translate them into concrete design direction.

Architect Scalable, Elegant Systems

• Own and evolve the experience architecture that underpins how product, platform, and AI surfaces connect and scale.

• Drive the design system and component strategy at an architectural level — thinking in patterns, primitives, and the principles that govern them.

• Partner with engineering to define and raise the bar for what production-quality, design-engineered experiences look like at Manychat.

Lead with AI Fluency

• Bring genuine, hands-on expertise in AI product design — not just using AI tools, but shaping how AI capabilities become intuitive, powerful experiences for creators.

• Explore and prototype AI-native interaction models: conversational UX, intelligent defaults, adaptive interfaces, and automation flows that feel like superpowers, not friction.

• Help establish Manychat's point of view on what human-centered AI design means in the context of the creator economy.

Elevate Craft and Influence

• Set the standard for design quality across interaction, visual, and systems — and raise it through example, feedback, and shared principles.

• Operate as a strategic thought partner to Product, Engineering, and Marketing, bringing design perspective into decisions early and communicating complex thinking with clarity to executive stakeholders.

• Bridge the gap between long-term vision and near-term execution, keeping both in view.

TO SHINE IN THIS ROLE 💥

You’ll need:

• 15+ years of experience designing and shipping products — a portfolio of real, consequential work across web and native platforms, with clear perspective on what you learned from each.

• Deep interaction design craft — you turn ambiguous problems into experiences that feel inevitable, and you know when to follow platform patterns and when to break them intentionally.

• Design engineering range — comfortable prototyping in code (Framer, React, or equivalent), working alongside engineers at the spec and implementation level, and thinking about design from a systems-and-architecture lens.

• AI-native design expertise — you've designed products where AI is a first-class experience concern, with nuanced opinions on how to make AI interactions feel trustworthy, useful, and human.

• Systems thinking — you naturally consider how a single design decision ripples across an entire product ecosystem. You design for scale, not just the screen in front of you.

• Executive presence and independence — you distill complex design thinking into crisp narratives that land with leadership, and you thrive on ambiguous, high-stakes work where the path isn't yet defined.

• A Bachelor's degree is preferred; HCI or a related field is a bonus, not a requirement.
