Legal Officer

Legal Officer will act as the cornerstone of our legal strategy, to support legal operations, risk mitigation, drafting agreements and driving high-impact advisory initiatives across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including service agreements, agreements with clients, merchants, Software development, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS agreements, NDAs, DPAs, LOI, MOU, and standard commercial contracts.

  • Corporate and Commercial Law: Provide support on corporate governance and compliance matters. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of corporate documents and filings, setting up legal operations, opening new companies.

  • Policy and Procedures: Help implement and maintain company policies and procedures (e.g., compliance checklists, workflows, templates).

  • Conduct legal research on applicable laws and regulations (e.g., AML, GDPR, MiCA, VASP, fintech, gambling regulations). Summarize findings and provide recommendations to senior team members.

  • Monitor regulatory updates and assist in ensuring compliance with financial, corporate, and IT-related requirements. Support data privacy requests and compliance documentation.

  • Act as a legal project manager on cross-functional projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.

  • Coordinate with various teams to integrate legal requirements into company workflows.

  • Work closely with internal teams (HR, Finance, IT, Marketing) to provide day-to-day legal support under supervision.

  • Ensure strict confidentiality in handling legal matters and maintain high professional standards.

  • Support knowledge management initiatives within the legal team (e.g., updating templates, organizing reference materials).

Requirements:

  • Master of Laws (LL.M) from an accredited law school

  • 4+ years of experience in commercial, corporate, or contract law (experience in international settings is an advantage)

  • Familiarity with IT, financial services, or related sectors is desirable

  • Experience drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and standard legal documents

  • Solid analytical and legal research skills with the ability to provide clear summaries and recommendations

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams, professional attitude

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines with supervision in a dynamic environment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, ability to work under pressure in fast changing environments

  • High level of professional ethics and integrity

  • Fluency in English ( B2–C1); knowledge of Estonian language will be considered an asset

Nice to have:

  • Experience in legal project management and implementation of AI legal tools

  • Knowledge of data privacy and cybersecurity laws, crypto processing, and financial transactions

  • Familiarity with cross-border transactions, international taxation matters

  • Prior experience in a corporate legal department or in-house counsel role

  • Additional languages are considered an asset (Lithuanian, Estonian, Polish, Russian)
