Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS / Kubernetes / Hybrid Infrastructure) Israeli-based

Overview

Our client develops an investigation intelligence platform used by law-enforcement organizations. The system aggregates data from multiple sources and APIs to build graph-based profiles that support investigative work.

The platform runs in a multi-tenant AWS environment and is also deployed on-premise for enterprise/government clients. The team is now modernizing their infrastructure and looking for a hands-on Lead DevOps Engineer to help scale the platform and introduce Kubernetes.

You will work closely with the VP R&D and CTO, lead the DevOps function, and help evolve the infrastructure supporting 20–30 services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute hands-on to DevOps operations and infrastructure design

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab

• Manage infrastructure across AWS and on-prem environments

• Lead the migration from Docker Compose to Kubernetes

• Implement automation using Python, Ansible, and Terraform

• Maintain monitoring and observability using Grafana and Prometheus

• Support infrastructure for OpenSearch, MySQL, MongoDB, ArangoDB, and Kafka

• Ensure high security and operational standards across environments

Requirements

Must have

• Strong DevOps / Platform Engineering experience

• AWS infrastructure experience

• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)

• Infrastructure automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform)

• Experience with Linux-based environments

Nice to have

• Kubernetes experience

• Hybrid cloud / on-prem infrastructure

• VMware ESX

• Experience with Elasticsearch / OpenSearch, Kafka
