Lawyer / Legal Counsel

CyprusRelocationHybrid

At PayDepot, we build cutting-edge B2B & B2C fintech products. We’re looking for a Lawyer to join our legal team and help ensure our operations run smoothly, compliant with regulations, and well-documented.
We have a beautiful office in Limassol, and if you’re not in Cyprus yet, we’ll assist with relocation for you and your family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing and maintaining contracts, NDAs and partnership/service agreements using existing templates and guidance.

  • Draft and maintain customer-facing legal documents (Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Cookies Policy and related notices) in coordination with senior management and external advisors where needed.

  • Coordinate GDPR and data protection activities, including keeping DPIAs, RoPA, DPAs and data subject request logs up to date.

  • Support internal teams on corporate, compliance and operational matters, including projects related to obtaining licences in other jurisdictions (gathering documents, preparing forms, coordinating with advisors).

  • Monitor new regulations relevant to fintech, payments, crypto/virtual assets  and data protection, and summarise them into clear internal guidance and checklists.

  • Prepare and organise legal and regulatory documentation, applications and filings.

  • Liaise with external counsel, regulators and other authorities on administrative and follow-up matters, as assigned.

  • Maintain and update internal legal/compliance databases, templates, trackers and document flows.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in a legal, compliance or regulatory support role (e.g. paralegal, legal assistant, compliance specialist), preferably in fintech, banking, payments or IT/tech.

  • Practical experience with GDPR compliance (e.g. assisting with privacy notices/terms, data processing agreements, data mapping, or internal privacy policies).

  • Good understanding of contract basics, corporate documentation and compliance frameworks (AML/KYC, sanctions, basic licensing concepts).

  • Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken; ability to draft clear and structured documents.

  • Ability to work in a structured, detail-oriented and deadline-driven way and to translate regulatory requirements into practical checklists and processes for the business.

  • Proactive, organised and comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment.

You’re our perfect match if

  • You’re organised, reliable, and take pride in high-quality execution

  • You enjoy working on diverse legal tasks under the guidance of an experienced lead

  • You’re curious and open to learning more about fintech and international regulation

  • You’re pragmatic — you focus on solutions and clarity, not legal overcomplication

What we offer

  • Full relocation support and working visa

  • Competitive salary

  • Days off when you need them

What awaits you

  • Working in a small and quick scrum team

  • No bureaucracy – we adhere to best practices and common sense

  • Pleasant colleagues, reasonable stakeholders, and a healthy internal culture

  • A healthy, non-toxic environment – we maintain a work-life balance and turn off Slack during vacations
